"A decent ultrabook but a medicore tablet" - By Mountainboy (CA, USA)
Update: I have used this computer for about 1 week and the versatility really exceeded my expectation. I actually like the 13.3 big screen for tablet compared to my asus transformer prime, which is about 10 inches. The keyboard is not that bothering on landscape mode for the tablet. The screen is also very bright. For the fan noise, it is really not noticeable if I do not put my ear to the keyboard. The computer is always below 50 celcus degrees. So I am confident that the computer will not burn, compared to my dell xps m1330,which can lead to 90 celcus degrees easily. So really happy with my purchase and I will keep it as my main computer. I would like to upgrade the hard drive for another 256 gb in short time. ----------------------------------------- original review: I have been waiting for a windows 8 laptop since last June when ... full review

"Video Review on why this laptop is a great buy." - By W. Shi (CA, USA)
[[VIDEOID:mo2DGO6BXW8E1A9]](actually PURCHASED the laptop at $788 before tax)
Other hybrid laptops with similar specs but much higher price point: Yoga2Pro and Sony Flip 13.3.
Pros: Great price point and specs for a tablet/laptop hybrid. Sturdy construction. Great battery life. Responsive Laptop stays pretty cold, and haven't over heat so far. (20 days and counting)
Cons: Keyboard use separate battery. Keyboard doesn't go to sleep mode if you don't use it. (If you forget to turn the keyboard off it's going to result in full battery monitor with 0 juice in the battery.) Keyboard needs to be connected separately with a usb cable to the monitor in order to charge.
Neutral: Tablet is little bit heavy in comparison to your everyday 10 inch tablets but it's no where close to the point where it's unusable.
Conclusion: At this price point this laptop is a steal at ... full review
like the taichi itself, the taichi suit is high-end quality yummy! beautiful feel, look, and function. you never have to worry about your taichi's bum getting too warm again with this. wish i would have gotten it a lot sooner.
I ordered the taichi 65w power adapter to replace my previous adapter which fell victim to my puppy's chewing phase, it's about 2 times the size as the standard adapter that came with my x202e note book but it preforms just as good, the adapter looks like a quality adapter, doesn't look cheap. If your adapter fails this is what I would recommend to remedy the problem, those with the x2002e note books the cheaper adapters for asus and universal adapters will not fit so if your the owner of an x2002e this is your only option but luckily its a good option ;)
"Lightweight and fast" - By M. Metteer (Kealakekua, HI USA)
I am not any kind of expert on computers, but I had an Aspire One which was great for travelling - small and light. I wanted something that could work as a tablet/ereader/and could also perform as a PC for work-related Quickbooks & Office tasks, that I could travel with. I think this will be perfect for that. Way better than the laptop I have had to take prior to this.
It's thin, lightweight and fast. Great display, I love the keyboard and the touchscreen is very responsive. It starts almost immediately when I open it. Windows 8 was a bit of a learning curve for me (I have used Windows 7 for a few years and like it) but I am getting onto it now, and like it. I have had it for about a week, so I still have a ... full review
As always Asus does it again. This is so amazing. I would recommend this company to buy it from and as the product is always the best and the warranty can not be matched or beat. It doubles, its a laptop, no wait, its a tablet, no wait, its both. It is a must for business oriented or trainers or for just using it daily use. It covers everyone. Did I mention. I love Asus. It is very fast. Easily connect via Wi-Fi or with the included Ethernet connector. Running windows 8. Two partitions which are extremely hard to even fill up one. Included also is the mini hdmi to hdmi. The included touch pen doubles as a two button mouse. Two year warranty is excellent. The first year anything accidental is covered(liquid, shock, fire or drops). The second year is the normal parts and labor being covered. There is ... full review
I've spent a few days now with my Transformer Book, and I must say I am very happy. The only real "problem" that I have with the machine is that the camera is pretty terrible at capturing video (at least the front facing one). The framerate looks like it's 5 FPS. This is only the case when capturing video to local files - Skype seems to be fine.
Other than that, this thing is great.
I'm an IT tech, and I've been looking for a way to learn Windows 8 on a touchscreen device that would let me get the most out of Win 8, plus have enough storage and connectivity to do things like backup customers' hard drives internally temporarily. I had high hopes for the Surface Pro, but when I learned that 128 GB was the max for storage, I was turned off. full review
There are so many adapters that claim they power the UX31A - this one really does fit the power connector securely. It does use a removable, changeable tip, but it is held securely, and the adapter itself seems well constructed and doesn't get hot.
