When I look at a device like this, I feel like we're in the future. Pretty amazing how far technology has evolved. But I digress...
The keyboard came pre-charged, so all I had to do was turn it on and slide it to the Bluetooth setting. No problem at all pairing it with the tablet part. I wonder if other reviewers didn't realize there was a separate power button on the keyboard (upper left).
Setup is simple. You sign in with a Microsoft account and it walks you through standard or customized settings. You can choose to set it up as a new PC or copy settings and Windows store apps from another PC in your network. It forces a reboot soon afterwards to set up ASUS Live. In all, installation took about 14 minutes, and rebooting took maybe 30 seconds.
I bought this for the Asus-Q200e and it's great. I thought I've lost my original charger so I bought this one. I found the original charger so I'll use that for travel or vice versa. The power input spec on this charger is higher and in fact doubles the wattage rating of the original charger so the laptop charges faster. Amazon had the best price for being an OEM product and was better than eBay if ever it gets listed there. If I ever buy a Taichi or Zenbook I don't have to buy an extra charger for them. I do admit I'm interested in a Zenbook.
"Item worked perfectly after my laptop wouldn't charge any more ..." - By Jay
Item worked perfectly after my laptop wouldn't charge any more with the charger it came with. For any future buyers note that this charger has a shorter cable than the stock one. It also has 2 very bright blue led's on the charger jack so you might want to cover them with something if that distracts you at all.
The color is great! However, It is slightly too long for my ASUS Zenbook UX31a, so I had to trim the sides down a bit to get it to fit into the keyboard well. There are some minor print imperfections (irregular ink thickness, a printing smudge on one key, etc.) but these were small and hard to notice.
