"Lovely tunes, educational, fun for baby!" - By zachimum (California)
My son loves this toy and has played with it every day for 2 months and I'm sure he'll use it for a lot longer. I enjoy hearing this toy as it's got pleasing guitar and singing. The only thing that kinda gets annoying is the 123 buttons on ABC mode go "1 2 3" or "circle square triangle" in the same tone/pitch.
what will play on ABC mode: 1234567 - a funky little short song "rock on" - puppy says it sing up high or way down low - cute lil' short song rock riff red orange green and blue - sung by a chorus of girls w/rock music "this is fun!" and giggle "oh we can strum and we can hum" song and she hums for a second rock riff "yoo hoo!" "great job!"
what will play on music mode: "it's music time!" with whammy bar ... full review
This guitar does so much! My son has had this toy for 2 months and we are still discovering new songs it plays.
There are several different ways to play this guitar. It has three modes: acoustic, electric and "woof." All are great. Kids can strum chord progressions, and play different notes on the scale (along the dog's back). The bone plays fun riffs, too.
The lyrics to the songs are hilarious (a song book comes with the guitar so you can sing along). The melodies are familiar and cover lots of different genres. There's even a song that sounds like a kid's version of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven."
I haven't even scratched the surface in this review -- just buy this guitar. You'll LOVE it! (oh yeah, and your kid will love it, too)
My son LOVES this product! We ordered this for his 3rd Birthday party! He sleeps with it every night...only a few songs play on the guitar so you will get tired of hearing "la la la la Elmo song"...still a great toy!
A good, solid guitar with real strings that hold their pitch (unlike so many other kiddie guitars). But two caveats: (1) It does *not* come with the pictured guitar strap. (2) Those big white dots you see on the neck are cheap stickers that fell off our guitar in the first half hour of use.
"Great for your little Guppies fan!!" - By Rangers68
I bought this for my one year old daughter to give to daddy for his birthday. He plays guitar, so I thought it would be cute that she bought him this "guitar". Of course, it turned out adorable....but on to the real reason why it's great. My daughter is such a Guppies fan and she loves to press all the buttons and "strum" this guitar. It plays music and some sound clips, but the best is the Bubble Guppies theme music. A few seconds of it has my daughter dancing each time. I could only see her using this toy more and more as she gets older, so I think it was a great purchase!
Very Good toy, 20 month old LOVED it. The only problem is the music -songs did not play long. But, then he is a 20 month old and does bang, drop, knock toys around like a typical 20 month old. EVen so, without any precorded songs playing anymore, he LOVES to strum on the strings and carries it around 'making music' all the time! it's the First toy he goes to Everytime he comes to Nana's house!! I would Definitely buy it again.
This is a great first guitar. My 9 month olds love it. It is the perfect size for them and it is a perfect stepping stone for a more advanced guitar when they are a little older. I think that the age range is off on the listing. I think that a 2+ year old would probably get sick of this toy quickly. However, mine love the whammy bar and pushing the buttons since they are just starting to learn to do that.
As long as you don't mind noise, this toy is great. My daughters love anything that makes noise, plays music, lights up, AND they can hit. This is a nice, small drum set but does make some noise. There are also many different interactive features that teach letters, counting, and memory skills. This is definitely something I would recommend for young children. Just make sure they don't hit sibling with the drum sticks!
