It's exactly what I wanted! Love the touch screen. The screen is wide and beautiful, set-up was easy, keyboard feels great. This is my first laptop that was not a mabook and I do not regret a thing! :)

"Excellent battery life and very fast, but gets warm" - By Andrea Polk (Pacific Northwest - USA)
This HP Envy 15 Quad Laptop is considered a ultrabook or 'sleekbook' as HP calls them, meaning that by eliminating a DVD drive, it's thinner and lighter weight than its counterparts with a drive installed. The laptop is sleek in appearance and performance. It does tend to run a bit hot, but that problem is most apparent when running multiple applications at one time, and can be virtually eliminated by using it with something like this: [[ASIN:B002MU1ZRS Cooler Master NotePal X2 Laptop Cooling Pad with 140mm Blue LED Fan (R9-NBC-4WAK-GP)]]. I have noticed this issue on nearly all the HP Envy sleekbook models I've tried out, no matter what processor and under all circumstances; on desktops as well as on laps.
MY TAKE ON THIS MODEL:
Overall, this laptop has solid specs that should please most consumers. A huge hard drive, upgradeable memory, and perks ... full review
I like the product . It value is worth and fast in booting n all. Only drawback i feel is the mouse pad of this laptop. It could be more better quality keys for mouse touchpad.
keyboard keys are very nice and smooth. all other things i liked very much also the lenovo default apps intalled are also good. One Key recovery is a very good option in Lenovo laptop Sound quality is very nice.
I was very happy when I received the Boxed 4790K CPU. The batch no. is L352C120. I searched in google and found that L352C120 is not so good in overclocking compare to L4 batch no. However, I tested this CPU in my ASUS Maximus VI. The default VID for 4.4Ghz is only around 1.185V. I overclocked it finally to 4.6Ghz @ 1.21V with memory running 2200Mhz (9-9-10-24-1T) stable with Prime95 for 10minutes. The full load temperature is around 85 C with Antec 920 closed-loop watercooling. I am quite satisfy with this CPU. I think I can lower the loading temperature more if a more powerful cooler is installed. Overall, I am quite satisfy with Amazon service. Thanks !!!
A month before buying this laptop, I never would have guessed the joy using it for work purposes it has brought. I have never owned a laptop prior to it BUT, I have used several laptops at work and laptops my friends own. The thing that convinced me was dual monitors but, I now use it mostly as a solitary machine.
The only thing I did to make this computer more usable was remove Microsoft Windows 8 and install Canonical Ubuntu 13.10.
PROS: Go anywhere, do (most) any local development you could need. I am a web developer and this machine has exceeded my needs. I run several local sites as well as a local database for each site. This computer runs like a champ.
CONS: Comes with Microsoft Windows 8, Beats Audio doesn't work like it used to once Win8 is ... full review
"Jumpy touchpad ruins otherwise nice laptop" - By M. Levine (Wellesley, MA United States)
I bought an HP Envy 15t (no touch screen, 4th gen i7 processor) direct from HP and I love it. The sales rep helped me make good choices to keep the cost down while giving me a perfectly usable PC. However, I was so unhappy with a small dopey feature that I was ready to send it back. The feature was the "touchpad" - that indented rectangle below the keyboard that is supposed to replace a mouse. It was so very horrible that it was ruining my life - that stupid indented rectangle. What the hell? Don't designers actually use these PCs or do they all use Macs? With the help of customer support, I enabled a hidden amazingly fantastic feature: now when I plug in a USB mouse, the whole damn touchpad turns into a cup holder. When I unplug the mouse, the touchpad comes back to life ... full review
