Ok, first off, my set is a little different, but I felt I had to say something due to the 1 star rating from another poster. For the record, I have the same Williams Alco FA locomotive, but the cars are a bit longer, 16 inches instead of the 12 inch cars here (for 0-27). Same Williams design, aluminum, lighted interior that show cool silhouettes on the windows. Just a tad longer and require 0-31 curves. Great to watch with the lights down. The whole thing runs really nicely, which for me, includes the ability to go real slow and steady, this powerful little locomotive is up to it. Quiet too. The 80 watt transformer / power supply is awesome too (compared to the weak 40 watt that typically come with most ready to run sets), with button for horn (whistle) and bell, also with a separate control for accessories, ... full review
This provides for a gradual incline of you track also provides for some track tilting. It goes together easily and provides an easy incline enabling a track to pass under. Great for urban construction models.
"Good for expanding an existing set" - By Eric Reinholdt (Mt. Desert, ME United States)
Good quality product if you're looking to quickly expand an existing loop of the EZ track. By itself, it will not create a complete loop of track. If you're expanding a simple-kid friendly layout, this is a good choice, the sections can easily be attached and detached and the plastic base allows you to operate a train on almost any surface, including soft carpeting. The gray roadbed (standard with the Nickel Silver track) is a passable stand-in for ballast (esp. for children), but you'll need to work hard to add detail if you're incorporating it into a realistic diorama or layout. Switches for EZ track are fussy and will require tweaking depending on your rolling stock. Some of my rolling stock pass the switches just fine, others derail. This problem has been noted on numerous EZ track reviews here and elsewhere and remains a ... full review
Great train . Plenty of power to get it up the slopes . One drawback , the coaches are way too long to fit in cuvres and tunnels . If you have a big oval it will work fine . I have the coaches on a wall display .and use the two engines to pull my 10 cars . The price I paid for all the track and engines is well worth it .

"Perfect Christmas tree train - if you use better track (Pictures)." - By J. Dash
Let me just stay first and foremost that this is a beautiful train and it looks great under the Christmas tree. I grew up with a train under the tree and now that I have my own tree to set up this year, I'd like to keep the tradition going. I must stress that the track that it comes with is Lionel Fastrack and it is the LOUDEST track I've ever heard. Combine hollow rails with hollow plastic underneath and you've got yourself quite a ruckus. I bought this on Amazon just before Christmas (Love Amazon Prime!). I brought it home, set it up, and it looked beautiful. Perfect. Was very excited. But as soon as I ran it for the first time my wife and I looked at each other in disbelief at the noise! So keep this in mind: It's not that the train is loud, it's the ... full review

"Kids love it, bit this is a VERY basic set" - By Dovetail65
Kids love it, bit this is a VERY basic set. You really need to get another track set to make this more fun. The track is so simple to connect, the train has ever derailed and I purchased an entire second larger set by the same manufacturer one I saw how nice this was. now we have a very nice set up in such a small size. this is NOT for a 7 year or younger unless the parents really help out a lot. It is very small and someone not familiar with this gauge can be freaked out at how small this really is. This is worth the money as a starter for sure. Having 6 kids I would say get the N gauge for 11 years old and up for sure. Stick to the HO size if you have the room or even super large O gauge ... full review
