Having consumed Himalania Goji Berries for over one year, the Navitas Naturals Goji Berry is a great addition to the exotic food market. The Navitas Goji is harder and drier than the Himalania Goji, but the flavor is much sweeter and better tasting.
I love the fact that they're raw, vegan, sun-dried, and free of chemicals and pesticides! Goji berries are believed to strengthen the immune system, increase energy and reduce fatigue, and reduce the threat of free radicals (due to HIGH levels of antioxidants). Gojis have highest ORAC score to date! The ORAC scale is a standardized test used to measure the total antioxidant potency of foods and nutritional supplements.
We love feeding the birds, especially in the winter when they can't find food as readily. Anyone who feeds birds knows the joy and smile it brings to see the beauty of Cardinals Blue Jays, Nuthatches and Woodpeckers, among others, at your feeders.
This Nut N' Berry mix is a nice variety of ingredients that these birds seem to like. Sunflowers Kernels ~ Peanuts ~ Sunflower Seed ~ Safflower (thank goodness there's not an excessive amount because most birds that visit our feeders won't eat it) ~ Pistachios ~ Hulled Pumpkin Seed ~ Dried Raisins ~ Dried Cranberries. Plus the food is supplemented with 24 vitamins/minerals and or nutrients. And it also has a nice cherry aroma that's noticeable as soon as the bag is opened.
A local big box store carries this food in a 14 lb bag which cost $19.88 when I bought it January 2014. full review
"5 stars for easy to use reference with add'l uses and recipe" - By Lmckb (Detroit, MI)
This book has been an invaluable A to Z reference guide for me over the years. Each item listed in the encylopedia is alphabeticized with its botanical info, nutritive values, reported health benefits, as well as 1 or more ways of preparing the item all in one easy to read quick guide. It has been my number one source for my understanding and preparation of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds including those I wasn't aware of. There is also a Part I that describes (also aphabetically and in easy to read format for the generally sophisticated reader) the components of the medicial and healing agents in the foods and their corresponding description, such as descriptions of vitamins, fats, acidity, enzymes and more along with the effect on the body. I would like to see this version or another similar guide expanded upon and updated while keeping witin ... full review
"Best way to cut a mango!" - By Don (South Carolina)
[[VIDEOID:moWKS5JHTKPWJS]]Oxo Mango Splitter -Easily separates two halves of fruit from pit. Then just score the fruit so that the skin lays flat and cut fruit from skin. There is no better way to cut a mango, so until something better comes along, this is a 5 star product. -Another reviewer noted when the blades dull, it will be difficult to sharpen. True. I'll buy another for all the time and mess it saves!
Purchased this material to cover a PVC Frame for a raised garden bed. Secured to the 3/4" pvc using snap clamps for a tight fit and it is working like a champ. No unwanted birds, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks. Bees and other pollinators make it through w no issues. One lesson learned - the plastic snap clamps can cut the netting if removed. So for the 2nd installation, I just tensioned the netting over the frame and applied the snap clamps around the bottom rather than top, bottom and sides of the frame. To access the garden I just lift off the entire PVC frame and netting and put it back on when I'm done. Critters seem to be taking the hint - haven't seen any of them even get near the netting. Good to go.
The plants were packaged very well and arrived in excellent condition. I ordered them in the middle of the winter and decided to keep them in my garage and they appear to have done well in this condition. They are just starting to leaf out, so far so good. My only dissapointment so far is when I repotted them, I realized that they were probably re-potted to a bigger pot right before shipping because the root system was not very well developed and they were shaped in a tiny peat starter plug. But,the roots that are developed look very healthy. I can't wait to see this grow and harvest some kiwi! I just hope I can provide a space big enough for this soon to be massive plant to grow... Update: I had some problems with the plants. The customer service from Hirts ... full review
I like most others that have reviewed this item, loved the Cooking Mama games. I figured since I liked those then I would definitely like this game, boy was I right. This game is very fun, and addictive. I have to say that I like it better than the cooking mama games. It is set up alittle different than the cooking mama games but nothing major to make it difficult to play. In this game you will grow different kinds of flowers, vegetables, and fruit. You receive gifts as you do things to get your plants to grow. It's a really nice addictive game. I have had this game for about a month now, and still have not completed the game, and I play it every night for at least 1/2 hour before I go to bed. If you liked the cooking ... full review
