I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed Amazon's increasing use of the US Postal Service to deliver packages and the delays this causes. Almost everything used to be sent by UPS which delivers without a problem or if they miss you, they can be counted on to redeliver the next day. Now with Amazon using USPS, I frequently miss the initial delivery and it is impossible to get my post office to redeliver. I call and they promise to redeliver on a certain day and they never ever show up. I have complained to the local post office and to the main post office but they just say they are short handed. Amazon takes my money to be a Prime member and promises free 2 day delivery. But this has proven to be a fraud now that they use USPS and I am forced to go to the post office to get my package. I have complained about this to Amazon and they do not care. I believe if they are too cheap to use UPS or FedEx, then they should not charge and promise 2 day delivery. Anyone else have a problem with USPS deliveries? I'm tired of being promised a redelivery and waiting home for USPS to be a no show. If I want to travel to the post office, I can go to a local store to shop and skip Amazon altogether.

Unlike some others here, I've only ever had one day delivery once. It was shipped by USPS and no, not from a local warehouse. Like all of the other shippers, the quality depends on where you live. All shippers have had threads started with complaints and within these threads, others have praised the same shippers.

I personally haven't noticed any issues with my Prime deliveries, but most things I order from 3rd parties through Amazon seem to ship via USPS and do take quite a long time to deliver. They are also hard to track. I do order a LOT through Amazon and try to order Prime eligible items whenever possible and I've never had a late order in all the years I've been ordering. Many times I even receive packages a day early, such as in one day when I ship 2nd day. Are you certain that the items you are referencing were Prime eligible?

Yup- same problem here; USPS is horrible for me. I've noticed other people have problems with other delivery services though. Because everyone seems to have a different idea of who the worst delivery services are, I've had this idea of an "Amazon Prime Plus" that costs more, but lets you exclude delivery services you don't like and eliminates the $25 requirement for Add-On items. I'd love if they'd do something like that.
