Should the installation disk be put in before or after I hook up the monitor for the first time?
The installation disk does not have to be put in at all. The disk is only for if ever for some reason the monitor needs to be recalibrated and what not. Theres a slip of paper that tells you what its for. The monitor is ready to use on arrival. When you get the monitor you can just plug it into your computer and into a wall socket and use. The disk may never be needed at all.
