I saw this at World Market and thought the bottles were cute, but the low price has me a bit worried. Has anyone tried this brand before? What did you think?
I need a few reasonably priced bottles for Christmas. I can't make it through that much forced family fun without a drink. <<giggle>>

They have some fun wines there that I have been too chicken to try out. I'm curious how it tastes...maybe you should crack it open and give it a test run before the family fun begins!

I did recently buy my boyfriend a bottle of wine, just for the label. He's getting a Menage Trios red for Christmas. Since that's the ONLY way he's getting a Menage Trios! :)

I've had that and it's decent..
But it's been a long time, so it may have changed since I've done.....I mean had.....it.

I have had it and it is not bad. But...I drink Charles Shaw (known as 3 Buck Chuck) a lot of the time, and think that is decent too. I am a believer that wine that cost more than $20 is a waste of money.

Edit - Wine that cost more than $20 is a waste of money for me. I don't love wine enough to know the difference. Now, good beer on the other hand, I have no problem spending money on that.

It's decent. The good thing about the low price, though, is that you can buy a bottle, and not feel too bad if you don't care for it.

Don't assume a low priced wine won't taste good. There are many inexpensive wines with great taste. I have tasted some pretty expensive ones that weren't so hot.
Electric Reindeer wines are decent. I buy the Chardonnay and reds by the case and use for cooking and drinking throughout the year.

I agree that low-priced does not equal bad, but I was not impressed with the Electric Reindeer wine. I really like the 14 Hands, "Hot to Trot" red blend. It can be found at World Market and Meijer. I was told the Hot to Trot Cabernet was good as well, but I have not tried it.
Watch the show Vine Talk on PBS. Cool blind wine tasting show hosted by Stanley Tucci. I love it!

Celeste, I just found a bottle of Electric Reindeer Merlot and could not remember where I got it. I opened the bottle and thought it was great. I still don't know where I got it. But, I have been searching for a few days. Why is so hard to find info on a product?? I keep being sidetracked by interference. Your posting finally told me that it can be bought a World Market and of course Amazon.

Cain Knobel says:
You "taste" wine as much by nose as by taste buds, and it turns only a small percent of people really have the senses to notice the difference between "good" and "very good". I can taste bad wine, OK wine, and good wine but that ends my ability since my I don't have great senses. So a good $12 bottle is about the same to me as a great $50 bottle. But not to all.

It's cheap bulk produced wine. Buy a bottle, if you don't like it you can always us it as a meat marinade

A lot of how wine tastes to a person is really perception. If it were me, and it were a type I tend to like, I would buy the bottle to try.

I tried the E.R. Merlot and it is now my new favorite wine. And I've tried my fair share of wines.

A friend of mine brought a bottle of this brand to a get together over 5 years ago. I had no idea how inexpensive it was when I tried and fell in love with it. It has remained my favorite since and I buy it every year.
