You'll get a popup, but you need to stay on Amazon; browse around. I actually missed out on a deal I was waiting for earlier, the Logitech mouse. I went and did a load of laundry and forgot to check back. Waiting expired. sigh...

it will open an alert page if you get an opportunity, but you won't. This was a ripoff

This Kindle 2 was a big rip off. I was waiting at my computer for a whole hour and clicked on "Add to cart" 2 seconds after 9 am PST....I was waitlisted! Is it possible that they had all sold out in 2 seconds?

WM says:
OKay, I've been going into my cart to see if it was there. I'll just keep shopping. Hmmm maybe that's their plan... to keep us here. lol

I am pretty sure that is their plan! I guess it worked as I am still here....spent a lot of money already, was hoping to spend more on the Kindle.

So, does Amazon send any msg that I'm not going to get item that I'm on the waiting list? How does this work? Do I just wait for box that may never appear until I have to do something else?

Posted on Nov 26, 2010 10:14:45 AM PST
WM says:
Still nothing... Wonder if they will send a msg saying that I will not get the item that I am on the waiting list for. Kind of frustrating to wait. But I guess better than heading out to the stores at 3:00 AM

Okay, so a window did pop up and informed me that I will not be able to purchaed this item. Unless I want to pay regular price. LOL. Well so be it. Not that big of a deal for what I was looking at.

Happy shopping everyone. Enjoy the weekend!

The "wait list" is a ploy to get us to stay around a look. Great marketing.

I am confused about this as well. I clicked on the wait list for the toaster oven. The button became backlit. I stayed on Amazon, browsing around. The button was not backlit...I waited...no notification, so I clicked it for a second time, then the whole thing was over, no toaster oven for me. I sat on Amazon for an hour without any message. Does this thing really work ? I have no idea what it looks like, or how long this "pop up" will last. Bummer.

A pop-up did come as I was viewing stuff. I do know what you guys are talking about, however, when it comes to the "unclickable". If you click it, it freezes, but just close the dialog and go to your cart and it should be there. It worked fine for me. It seems to be some kind of bug, and if that doesn't work, just open up a new tab.

I had no idea, but it goes by fairly fast. People have to pay with in a certain time and if they don't, then the next person in line gets it. I waited for about 10 minutes for 16th in line.
