Is it just me or do others find this year's Holiday specials lacking? I haven't ordered a single thing and plan to visit the Brick and Mortar this weekend.

The last few years I found lots!

only found one deal and it was on Cyber Monday....a kindle fire for $139...glad I am not celebrating Christmas this year.

My husband and I have noticed the same thing. The lightning deals are a joke... the same overpriced wrapping paper and watches every day. Very disappointed.

Every year people come to this forum and say "what happened to the deals they used to be so good" - this is the first year I decided to join the bandwagon. The deals have not been tempting me, which I guess is good for my wallet.

I have to agree, not one item has lured me into purchasing it. They seem to be the average run of the mill today's (lightning deals) specials. Very disappointing to the point I don't even bother checking them anymore.

The Black Friday deals were ok but since then....not a thing worth my time....Amazon is letting me down this year.

I found some deals in music and DVD/BluRay but no big ticket items. Then again, I wasn't looking for any big ticket items to begin with.

I found good deals in toys and purchased quite a few for the Salvation Army and 2 birthday gifts for February and April. I bought a Kindle for my fil and an air popcorn maker. In past years I got some incredible deals on a variety of items. I think I am just not in the mood and feeling we have to tighten our purse strings for the coming years.

Yep.

"Sales" on off brands made in bangladesh that nobody wants. Even the dvds/blurays have been terrible this year. They're just offering/offloading a lot of defective products since black friday. Everytime I've bothered to read some of the reviews on the Lighting Deals, they're mostly bad reviews warning others to avoid...hidden under the first couple gleaming reviews that looked like they were made by fake accounts.

Amazon has really fallen off this year.

I agree. Last year ALL of my gifts came from Amazon. This year the real deals just aren't there. With the economy the way it is, you'd think deals would be all over the place.

Wait til' tomorrow, it could be guitar day again. If I buy one more my wife will probably bash me in the head with it.

Just curious, what would be considered a good deal other than Amazon giving away the farm for free. It's not like people aren't buying, most deals are selling out.

Check out woot.com maybe you'll find better deals there.

The worst part about it is that I was actually looking forward to these past 2 weeks all year long.

From the poor products and customer service, lackluster deals, lighting deals being a joke this time around...it's all been disappointing.

I usually spend quite a bit of money on the flash deals but this year I have spent less than $50. They just aren't having anything we are interested in.

We disagree. Our Mommy bought us the Smart Cat Ultimate Scratching Post and we love it. It's so nice, we refuse to ruin it, so we use Mommy's new furniture instead.
Sincerely,

Some wear a watch because looking at one's wrist out of habit looks silly.

I agree, I spend a ton of money during Black Fridays sales on Amazon an there was nearly nothing interesting or hat was a good sale. Just a bunch of so-so items with ok savings.

The deals have not been as good. The video game and toys day were jokes. I find myself buying a lot more at Target and Toys R Us this year. In past years, when TRU would run there video game sales like the buy one get one 1/2 off that they are running right now, I'd go to Amazon and they would be matching - but not this year. And a lot less of things like DSs in the lightning deals and the same stuff being run over and over. I have bought here but not nearly as much as the last few years.

This year has been noticeably lackluster - the video game day was especially hilarious. It was perfect if you were in the market for 6 different dance/Zumba games, but that's all there was!
