Anyone else purchase the tv just on the lightning deals and get charged the full amount? It showed I was on the wait list and I could purchase it but then charged me the full amount. So I canceled it. Really upset!!!
Just so you guys know, it will show the full price until you go through the check out. Only then you'll see a "promo discount" applied to your (cart) purchase along with your shipping choice just before you click into the purchase option. It's weird, but that's the way it has worked for a few years now.
Here's a example of an invoice for a Lightening Deal: Item(s) Subtotal: $36.83 Shipping & Handling: $10.75 Super Saver Discount: -$10.75 Lightning Deal: -$7.88 ----- Total before tax: $28.95 Sales Tax: $0.00 ----- Total for This Shipment: $28.95
So yes, it "charges" the full amount. But then credits you the lightning deal savings all in the same transaction. And Amazon is NOT trying to be tricky. It's more of an accounting issue were your discount is treated the same way as a coupon.
