Neither.
Both are liars; one's an addict, the other just nuts.

Can we be sure of Manti's full scope of involvement and responibility just yet?
I don't think so.

What if she just sat there and let them interview each other. Destination television.

DTC says:
According to Oprah when she appeared on CBS This Morning Tuesday, Lance Armstrong requested the interview with her. I think it would have been odd if she interviewed anyone else at his request -- including Te'o.

FlamingoNut says:
Armstrong is a liar & a cheater. He waited to spill his guts until he was 'safe'. She shouldn't have wasted one breath on him.
But then again, I really don't care about either one of them anyway.

Pogo says:
Lance may be "safe" for using but he sure isn't "safe" from libel action from all the people he lied to and about.

Good point Yin. Lance destroyed a lot of lives and I can't see how he can keep from being sued by these people, if he admits he lied about using steroids.

I'm sick and tired of that football player. Why is this even a feature on the national news?

Pogo says:
I don't think he has to admit he lied to/about them.

By admitting he used he admits he lied to/about them.

Because this story is about as bizarre as O.J. Simpson's slow speed police chase in the white Ford Bronco.

Pogo says:
At least O J "didn't" kill a real live person, where as Manti didn't kill an online persona.

Yes, now I really think Oprah should have interviewed Te'o instead of Armstong. Manti Te'o's story has overshadowed this interview with Lance. Oprah held on to this interview way too long and is now dragging it out over 2 nights like it's War and Peace or something. I didn't hear anything new from Lance that really amounts to much. He just wants to compete again and get his ban lifted, without admitting to anything that could get him in any legal trouble. I wish he would just go away so I would never have to see or hear from him again. SMH

Eric Rich says:
Manti Te'o is either insane. Or gay. Or both. But he sure as hell lies about everything over and over again. What, exactly, would be the point in interviewing him, other than for entertainment value? It's not like a word of truth will leave his mouth. Personally, I think he's gay and this is his absurd way of trying to cover it up. Being a mormen, being at a catholic school, and being in college football... well, in all of those instances, being crazy and a liar is FAR better than being gay. It's kind of like that grade school "oh, yeah, sure I've got a girlfriend but, um, she's nobody you'd know. Um, why? Um. Because she lives in Canada. Yeah, Canada, see, you couldn't possibly know her. Sorry." taken to a completely absurd level on a national stage. But let's be honest. He had to kill off his fictitious girlfriend at some point. How else was he going to get out of it?

Ok. That's an interesting take on Te'o's situation that had not occurred to me.
Whatever the truth really is, will surely come out (no pun intended) eventually.

Sweet Pea says:
Lance Armstrong doesn't have any options left if he wants to ever compete again. Seems like he's making a last desperate attempt to savage his career and public persona. I'm sure he's going to try to find a way to make money off of this. A tell all book or something. I hope Livestrong isn't damaged too much since it is a worthy cause. He probably should have just came out long time ago and admitted to using peds but blamed it on his cancer. Say he needed help getting back or something like that. People will forgive just about anything if you just give them an out. Because of all the damage he did to others for so long it's probably too late. He's a jerk.
I guess we have to wait to see how the Te'o story turns out. He should have been the one Oprah interviewed. So many unaswered questions.

©oope® says:
Oprah is just making it easy for Lance to confess. It seems we're not supposed to think he's a sport ruining, conniving, cheating, evil fraud, but just a bad boy who should get his wrists slapped.

I hope nothing he can do lifts the ban, and this opens the door to all the suits which should be filed against him.

Carrie says:
Lance Armstrong is a cheater & a liar in both his personal life & his career. He doesn't deserve the media attention and shouldn't be allowed to compete again. I know that I sound harsh, but this guy ruined a sport for many future athletes.

Waialae Will says:
According to an interview by ESPN, Te'o said that he had nothing to do with the hoax.
SF Gate via AP:
"I wasn't faking it," ESPN quoted Te'o as saying during the 2 1-2 hour interview. "I wasn't part of this. When they hear the facts they'll know. They'll know there is no way I could be a part of this."
