Do not blame "Prime" or Amazon for packages delayed by the delivery services such as FedEx, UPS or USPS. This close to the holidays these services are working around the clock to appease both the customers and shippers.
Just in my area my UPS driver (who I have had the same one for 15yrs) told me the volume in deliveries this year is up 3x vs last year at this time.
I have 25 orders in the last 30 days, and 128 orders in 2012. Amazon prime not only delivers, but has sooo many other benefits I almost feel guilty. There is rarely a problem and when there is, Amazon has done their job in remedying the problem or making amends.
I placed an order on Dec 18th and it got broke up into 3 packages. 1 package arrived on Dec 19th as scheduled via UPS. 1 package arrived Dec 20th via FedEx as scheduled and 1 package arrived Dec 20th via UPS as scheduled.
I have rarely had any problems with Prime shipping, over the last year I have had only 2 packages show up late and that was due to a shipping problem on Amazon's end and they took care of the issue.
I am very pleased with the Prime program and do 98% of my shopping on Amazon.
I've had the two day shipping actually become the overnite shipping as well. Depends upon what warehouse it comes from. I have had Problems though when Amazon does their shipping via FedEx SmartPost cause FedEx just takes the package to USPS and lets them deliver it. I have NEVER had a package shipped this way arrive to me on time it is ALWAYS at least a day late. This to me is unacceptable I pay extra for prime for their 2 day shipping. Amazon needs to take FedEx smart post out of the picture because it does not work.
I'm with a couple of the other people in that I have been receiving overnight on a few items but I did just get a delay on one Xmas gift through UPS that was due for Friday but also received no less than three emails indicating there was a delay due to weather and then to my surprise it arrived today (UPS does not usually do Sat. deliveries to residential).
Well, I was wrong! FedEx came late Saturday with all the stuff I thought wouldn't come until Monday. So only one box that was scheduled for Friday was late. But considering that even Prime doesn't usually include Saturday, everything else was early.
And just in time for Festivus. It's 1:30 EST so that's today!
Happy Festivus, everyone. I guess I'll have to cross off slow delivery from the 'Airing of Grievances' this evening.
