I like to think of Halloween as the start of the "holiday season". It's a shame that Thanksgiving gets a back burner but just how much planning, decorating, shopping and excitement can you have for a holiday like Thanksgiving? I see Christmas as being a two month long celebration culminating with Dec 25 and then winding down until Jan 1. Or maybe that's just my excuse to not have to wait 7 more weeks and start celebrating RIGHT NOW!!!
lol i'm not allowed to say the word "christmas" outloud until the day after thanksgiving... unless i'm saying "babe i'm glad we're almost done christmas shopping" we like to be done with that by december.
Thanksgiving is my family's only holiday together, so I take it far more seriously than Christmas. And I love it! We have a huge gathering of family and friends, people and pets...it is a little crazy but who's family parties don't get crazy?! I try to ignore Christmas till after Thanksgiving.
At my house Christmas is just a day off work to watch movies and eat ham.
I don't want to see anything that has to do with Christmas until I awaken from my food coma on Thanksgiving night. Darn you Amazon for putting up a freakin' Christmas tree decoration! I'm already sick of Christmas thanks to you!
No offense but, bite me! I like Christmas as much as the next elfen-like person but I like it in it's own time. I despise people pushing farther and farther back down the calender. Sometime in early to mid December I will wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Of course, by that time a lot of you will have probably moved on to Easter!
People sharing kind sentiments. That's what Christmas is all about. Any time of the year, if someone wants to say "Merry Christmas", and is met with, "And to you, too", well, that is alright by me. We need to get back to kindness. So thank you, "Not fit for human consumption", for starting it all with your post. And may God bless each and every one of you!
