Every day several post this same topic, so to answer your question; I would say "yes" others are disappointed.

Target offers a credit card with 5% off all purchases....takes the tax benefit out of Amazon, plus easier returns.

So do B&M stores and other online stores quit selling anything but Christmas merchandise and quit putting anything but Christmas merchandise on sale or clearance this time of year? The answer is no so what makes you think Amazon should be any different?

i was not trying to imply that other items should not be on sale during the holidays. but a lightning deal on cereal is a bit much. 99% of people are checking the lightning/gold box etc deals looking for gifts, not pantry staples. i understand that grocery stores are having sales right now like they do year round. however it would be silly of them to have some crazy black friday event on random items like bags of sugar or carrots. i dont think people would flock to their local grocery store at 5am to save $1 on a box of cereal. i dont think its weird that amazon has cereal on sale. i think its weird that they would make it a lightning deal during the holiday season.
