World War Z is, without a doubt, the best zombie fiction I've ever read.

Some of my favourite stories are the one about the guy addicted to his computer in his apartment, who then has to climb down the balconies to escape, the one where the kids and families are herded into a gym but the zombies break through, and the one with the childlike adult who replecates the zombie groan, it's a real shane that they didn't make the audio book!

This book disturbed my sleep for weeks. It is the best reasoned and most logical take on a zombie outbreak. I especially "enjoyed" the idea of zombies traveling through the oceans and piling up under boats.
Just thinking about this book makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
It didn't help that I found it in a corner of my library and was pretty much the only person reading it. I couldn't even find anything on-line at the time.

There IS an audio book, more like an audio drama... but it is abridged.

Didn't like the Audio Book. Something about how the stories were told, just didn't sound as great as I imagined, and some of the accents were terrible. As well, they left out some of my favourite stories!

I've read World War Z twice, but I'm pissed off the new movie coming out is PG-13, I'm also disappointed that in the trailer it looks nothing like the book. Why are the zombies running? Why are they climbing on top of each other? Oh well, I guess if it was Max Brooks and you offered me a bunch of money to turn my book into a movie, I would probably take.
