I'm glad you wrote about this Informed Consent. I wish you'd expand a bit more on the CFR end of life and advanced directives and when there is no family around to speak for a dying patient who does not want ANY intervention but it may not be available. As a medically retired RN due to epi genetic Cystic Fibrosis, (of which you need 2 mutations, not one) and perhaps an experimental unbeknownst to me gadolinium metal somehow, which opens an alternate Chloride channel in the CFTR gene, I have unexplained brown black particles on a lung biopsy/washing. NO one is talking to me and other mysterious skin sores 7 months p last MRI in Dec 2010 w meningioma that reacts to estrogen/progesterone, and was stopped, but no meningioma seen on CT in July 2010, imagine that. the only place I saw anything online about Informed Consent and end of life issues was on a va.gov site, briefly, I copied it, No. It is NOT right to conduct any experiments (whether a field exercise, in which the active duty gets exempt from consent) or any unexplained "treatments" as in The Treatment by Martha Stephens. There is enough adverse reactions from known medications and current treatments and bad GMO /BPA foods that are unpredictable without adding more fuel to the fire. Yes, Denver did use fake blood, polyheme and they died, doubt families if they had any, even knew. I did not know the EMT's carried it and we did not obtain from the blood bank, but anes did use it. What a crime. I do not agree Black Americans should engage in more "medical research". I won't let them touch me again with anymore radiation exams, chest xrays or MRI or any contrast agents, inhaled, oral, IV, local or anything. I'm challenging them to give me my total radiation dose, to include contrast agents used, types and I refuse any more of their treatments/diagnostics and lies since they don't explain changes in tests results and YES, I am MAD and they deserve what they get from me.
