Can't wait for the book - it is going to my 15 year old who has a strong passion to be a sniper, wants to be the best of the best in the Delta Force or Rangers. He couldn't go to bed the night we heard the news about Osama bin Laden - he wanted all the details on which special ops team did it - how they did it, etc....So a book written by an Elite Sniper, will be quite special to him. Heard Dr. Wasdin on the local radio station being interviewed this week - seems like an awesome man with much information. When I told my son about it, he kept bugging me to order the book - he will be a little disappointed that it is not out yet! Perfect timing for this book to come out with the interest being raised from the OBL mission.
Wasdin was on PRI with neil conan today for 2 minutes as he was too busy too talk to an icon .What a loser. We are buying " the heart and the fist" copies for our book club members .As he has more time for us military book readers.
M. Graney, it was a very confusing "kicking out process" i remember him being awarded and pinned then some salutes ....... kinda seemed like an award ceremony while being medically discharged. that's alright though, stupid people will always talk about what they know not of, if your not intelligent enough to hold a conversation, don't revert to talking trash....... maybe go read a book to expand your vocabulary, want a good suggestion?
My 15 year old future sniper - read the book in 3 days- used it for an English assignment - said it was an awesome book - must have been written well and interesting for a 15 year old to read that fast!
I would recommend SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL Sniper as the first read for the M. Graney Book Club. It was a well written, insightful look into the life and conquests of a SEAL team member. I found it difficult to put down, and enjoyed every word of it. Perhaps M. Graney is the pseudonym for Lt. Cdr. Buttwipe, hence the hostility. Just a thought....
P.S. I LOVE our military...especially Navy SEALS :)
AMEN! I just drove 6 ohours to meet with him today per his approval and he cancelled when i walked into his practice in south Georgia!!! JERK I wonder if he was afraid I would ask him questions he knew that I would see through his lies???? I told his secretary at his practice I wanted to meet him to get my book signed and that I know a few guys who were deeply involved in Mogadishu Somalia- Black Hawk Down----the tone quickly changed when I got there and he would not even come out to meet me------he isn't a SEAL he is a CHICKEN!!!! LOL WHAT A JOKE!!!!!
amen!!!!! he is a fake-joke-wanna be- i went to meet him and he pussed out. he found out i know guys that were deeply involved in somalia and black hawk down and he ran afraid of what i might ask him------chicken ass. he should keep on poppin peoples backs because he certianly aint got a back bone of his own!!!!
Wow, you people are really jealous aren't you? You can't just say thanks for your service to our country and move on can you? That says more about you than it does about him. I loved the book and read it with awe that our country has such extraordinary individuals in its' midst. Thanks for the insight and your service Mr. Wasdin!!!
Donald, you are right....Simmons is blind and dumb. Wasdin is a liar and dreamer. He is a dreamer who live in his fantasies. Total shame and dis service to the real men and women of our countries armed services.....shame
Both of you are absolutely correct. I know Howard Wasdin personally and his family. He should be ashamed for the lies that he wrote in this book. He is liar and only embellished the stories that are some what real. He forget to mention his second marriage in which he was abusive to his wife, he also forgot to mention the lump sum of money he received upon his discharge that he blew within 6 months. He also forgot to mention the numerous bad checks he wrote while he worked as an UNsuccessful car salesman and lived in his fathers home. Also, why is it that none of his family will speak to him now??
Good Lord! I wonder what is wrong with you people and such an over load of hostility? Question? Why would anyone take the time to write such nasty commentaries? There is a forum for rebutals, it is called, write your own book and get your facts straight. Understand that everyone has a story of their life. It is how they see it and how they experienced that life. You can take people from the same family speaking of the exact same incident and their stories won't match up because their perspectives are different. The foundations will be the same while the details will be those that were important to that individual. When your children grow up ask them what events were important to them growing up. All of my sons have different stand out memories and you know what? As a fully involved parent few of the things that I thought were really important to them barely registered in their memories. The point of the story is that it is hard work to reach and achieve the position as a special operations person, combat is hard and there is a fine balance between warrior readiness and trigger puller. There is a balance inside at the core that is necessary in order to survive the carnage, the politics, and the losses. There are many professions that require this balance, special forces simply enhances these pressures and condenses the experiences. For those of you who were so negative, go back and re-read the book. It isn't a glorification of Wasdin, it is a walk and struggle through life. It shows how easily we can step into the wrong path when we are winning and believing our own "press reviews" and how black the pit looks when we are staring down into it's depths. It offers hope and understanding and reminds us that the constitution guarentees us the pusuit of happiness, the work is up to us. What makes you happy? How hard are you willing to work for it? Kay
