Dear Ms. Block, I do not know how to reach you so I thought I would start here: I was very disappointed this Christmas with the current 2011 ST:TOS calendar. What a let down. The same boring type of photographs year aftere year and the even the photos seem to be shrinking. I think last years calendar had a 5 inch border around each months photo- and there are only 12. Then when I opened your fantastic book, things were looking better for my holiday. The photos you captured were ones that no calendar would ever attempt yet they are ones I have aloways wanted to see. -and there are 365 of them.Great stuff. Thank you so much fot putting this out. I will no longer need those calenders. Should you do somthing along these lines in the future, I have something to contribute: A Nimoy publicity still from NBC that was included in the Annual Awards Banquet of the New Mexico State Aggies program, dated April, 7th 1967. It was no secret that the actors went to things like this to promote the show back then and this program booklet was given to attendees. It contains a B&W photo of Nimoy as Spock. He autographed the back. I own all of the coffee table books and pictures throughout the Star Trek history and this one was never ever been published again since then. I would like to share it with other fans if you are interested.
Dear SP, Thanks for the praise. Unfortunately, I don't have any input into what the calendar contains or doesn't contain. It appears that the folks who make the calendar did not have access to the very rare photography that my co-author and I found. That's not really their fault. Their goal is to produce a calendar that will appeal to the general public and I'm sure they do the best they can. However, it may surprise you to learn that many of the episodic shots that my co-author and I chose came from the CBS library, and that's where the calendar publisher gets its images. I suspect they didn't want the calendar to look just like the book so they went for different images. Hopefully, next year they'll pick ones for the calendar that you like as much as the ones that appeared in the 365 book. Regarding your rare Nimoy still, it would have been GREAT to see it while we were gathering materials for the book. Sadly we didn't, and the next book we're scheduled to work on won't be about The Original Series. But it sounds like you've got a real rarity in your hands! Take good care of it. Thanks for writing. PB
