I have to say..... when Organized Konfusion released their final album The Equinox i liked it but was dissapointed with it.. it did not seem near as good as either of their 1st 2 albums.... i just picked it up off a pile of CD's yesterday at home and played it and it is 10 times better than i remember it.... maybe it is because i am older.. maybe it is because i played their 1st 2 to death and this one seemed fresher cause i have not heard it a million times.... i dont know... but wanted to shout out this album... and ask all you knowledgable people where it ranks amoung Organized Konfusion albums.

Buy the actual CD or purchase album via MP3 download ?

Hello, forum. As a collector, I was wondering how many people actually purchase the physical album rather than simply buying the album online via download (or illegally download). I always get the "hey, save your money and download it instead" talk. Not me, I prefer to have the physical copy. Just a preference. Do most of you do that?Side note: I hate those digipaks or cardboard albums that do not come with an insert/liner notes. damn it. For the record, I have nothing against people downloading music illegally. I've done it. I have done it in the past so that I can preview the album to unknown artists I have been recommended to listen to. then, I actually delete it and buy the actual album.

I like Sean, but I knew before I clicked on it that he was going to offend someone, LOL!!!To sum it up, he said outside of MC Lyte and Rah Digga, he's not feeling any female rapper- none whatsoever- no matter what name was thrown at him. He did mention Boss briefly...that is, if anyone remembers her. Since this interview, he's been pegged as sexist and/or mysogyinst for speaking his mind. My question is this- is what he said sexist or does he have a point?

Why does him never get mentioned when taking about the best producers? He's in my top 10 and imo one of the other prime reasons the east coast sound was so loved. He was funky on the boards before Dre.He gave us Headbanger, You Gots To Chill, Rocafella, Blow Ya Mind, Get Lifted, & How High. So why does Erick Sermon seem to get so overlooked. Where does he rank in your book? I just want to show some luv to one of the best beatmakers who beats are just as good as the producers in this thread title.

Just wanted to say happy new year and hopefully 2012 will be another great year for hiphop.... how would you all rate 2011 for hiphop? just give it a simple letter grade... i would give it a B+ alot of good music this year....not a ton of it really really stood out to me... but lots and lots of top quality hiphop... and as i get older and get more detached from what is current....i have some hope for the future of hiphop with fresh acts like Big KRIT and Kendrick Lamar... that got their own style..the speak real talk for their generation.... they actually have something to say and have found their own way to say it creative and get peoples attention... what more is their really? They are not my favorite emcees...and the prolly will never be... but that is more me than them.... them dudes are dope... anyway happy new year to all....i want to take this moment to thank all of you for giving me a forum to conversate about hiphop... no one i know personally is really into this music i love and if not for you i would just burst at the seams....thanks for listening (for those who did) and thanks for all the good talk and info!!! peace out dudes!!!

So i was reading about this Jay-Z and Lil Wayne beef, which is hilarious to me cause how wayne is avoiding his response to Jay saying it wasn't beef, another reason in itself why he ain't effin with Jay, dude disappoints me so much, anyway he goes on to say that beefin and competition is for the "old guys" in rap, that dudes nowadays just make music and have fun. Now granted i know when it comes to anything you do your supposed to have fun and enjoy it, but to say that it's for the "old guys" was very disrespectful in my eyes, these are cats that came in to the game an pioneered it with that competitive drive Kool G Rap, KRS 1, Run Dmc, Big Daddy Kane, 2pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas Ice Cube, Scarface, UGK etc etc, so for him to say that was a total slap in the face, not only that but it had me thinkin thats one of the problems with SOME hip hop today is cats do it just to make money, there's nothing that drives them anymore, anyways what's my hip hop forum fam got to say about it?

According to me, in the Hip-Hop's scene, there are rappers that are healthily sadistic , that means that their beats and lyrics express aggressiveness turned to the outside himself to safeguard their psyche and their body from various pains and from physical death.These rappers are strong and powerful in their life and they don't let themselves tread underfoot by anybody !An example of sadistic rappers are Redman, Keith Murray, Erick Sermon, Busta Rhymes, Camp Lo, Def Squad, Dmx, Ja Rule, The Dwellas, and others....And there are Masochistic rappers, that means that their beats and lyrics express aggressiveness turned to themselves : in their life they get various illnesses, troubles, accidents, theu use heavy drugs that harm seriously the the health. Often they passed away.An example of this rappers are Old Dirty Bastard ( look at his passed life !), Biggie, Big L, ....etc.For an examle I love the Dj Muggs album ( Soul Assassins n.1) and the Wu-Tang double cds "Forever", but if you listen to the their beats and lyrics, they express an death's atmosphere , trouble and desperation.I have created 6 listmanias dedicated to the sadistic Hip-hop and, if you want, you can look at them, just clicking on my nickname, and afterwards clicking on the " See all 25 Listmania ! Grip Grand's new album is good. Those of you who liked Brokelore should try to get this one asap. It has a throwback feel to it production wise with all the scratching and break beats. Grip sounds good on the mic but imo lets the beats outshine him on some trks. Grip really has an ear for dope beats. I only listened to this once and I am almost willing to say top 20 for 2011. Great way to end this real good year of music.

If you haven't got a chance to listen to this 6 minute track, you are missing the eff out. Prolly my favorite track from this year. I guess it's a compilation of verses he's done before along with a live band. All verses, no hook. I have all his projects, but I don't think i've heard any of these lyrics, so the compilation thing is questionable. The track flips several times (5-6 i think) as he spits over different beats that all transition and flow together.It's worth the $1 or so, without a doubt. So many ill lines/similes/metaphors ... Crazy.Figured this track needed its own post.
