I won't even consider an ALEX toy without Billa or Mr. Book's endorsement.

It's always good to allow other people to think for you.

I totally agree, without them how are we supposed to know if the product is worth buying or if Amazon is trying to rip us off.

I'm having to work to see age ranges. For the paper plate kit, the MFR lists 36 months -- 6 years, while the description a section below that says not for children 7 years and up. That's clearly wrong, it's for younger children.

It kind of stinks that they list an item that may have only had a few of them in stock for their "sale" price and then when you go back to actually buy it... they are gone and only independent sellers have them available for a lot higher of a cost.

Who are Billa and Mr. Book and where do you go to check out a product?

I wanted to reccommend ALEX toys whole-heartedly. We purchased stilts at a discount store and one stilt was missing. The company shipped us one for free no questions asked. Their customer service is top notch and the stilts are top quality. My son is loving the challenge of learning to walk on stilts and the stilts are going to last for my grandchildren to use way into the future.

Hi Charlie's Aunt, they are just regular (and largely unpopular) contributors to the Gold Box sale thread. Often, their comments are "Hidden" by the other viewers as not "adding to the discussion" (I expect that will also be the case for my comments today). I was just trying to amuse some people here. ;^)

When I visit the paper plate page Alex Toys Paper Plate Bugs, Alex Little Hands Art Series I don't see: "NOT for children 7 years and up".

I see Contents conform to ASTM D4236 & F963. Recommended for children ages 7 and up.

You also see the manufacture's recommendation: Manufacturer recommended age: 36 months - 6 years

You have two recommendations what the manufacturer believes and what some organization in business to protect you believes:

The Paper Plate Craft box is adorable. Last year, I picked up a few sets to make goody bags for a group of 3 and 4 year olds. There are 5 crafts per box, and they are easy to separate. Obviously you only get one instruction sheet in the kit, so I made colour copies. You get one Jumbo glue stick in the packet, but I hit the dollar store for the ones I plopped in the gift bags. The bags must be large enough to accommodate a paper plate, but it was well worth it. I threw in a lolly to sweeten the deal, and got great feedback from the other parents.
So much better than ring pops and cheapo trinkets.
It is a quality craft for 3 to maybe 6 year olds.
