Today only, The Mel Brooks Collection on Blu-ray, a nine-film retrospective of Brooks' career. The Mel Brooks Collection includes such classics as Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, History of the World Part 1, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Silent Movie, To Be or Not to Be, and The Twelve Chairs.
Great deal on some classic comedies! I have the DVD version (think I paid a couple dollars more than this price a year or two ago) which contains all of the same movies except Spaceballs which is only in the Blu-Ray collection.

I purchased this set for $28.99 during the last Goldbox deal back in July. Now that it's even cheaper, it's a no brainer for any Mel Brooks fan who might be expanding their Blu-ray collection.

This price would cost me a trip to Zaxby's with my 3 kids or a drive to the museum, walking trails, and lunch at that mobile restaurant. I'd enjoy the movies, but I'd enjoy that trip even more. One would plant me on the sofa where other content is available in great quantity, but the other gets me out of the house and enjoying life. Think I'll make the decision 'this' time not to be a retail consumer. [patting myself on back]

If you have to choose between spending time with and feeding your children and buying this set (if you can't conceive of doing both), yes, indeed you made the right decision not to buy it (pat on the back probably not necessary).

A DVR? Most DVRs don't play discs of any kind, do they?
You need a blu-ray player to play blu-ray discs. Typically blu-ray players will also play DVDs and CDs.
If you are going to buy a disc player for movies, I recommend getting a blu ray player (unless you need a DVD player for a kids' room, guest room, or class room and find one for about $10-15).

"However, If you only have *one* $25.99 to spend one time, by all means feed your children."
If you are doing so badly that you have to pick between a $25 BD set or a dinner out at Zaxby's, then you should probably not be doing either. Eat at home and put the $15 left over into your kids clothing or health care or college funds or whatever they need.
