My impression is if you are going to be willing to spend a lot on a gaming headset I would wait to see a good price on models with surround sound. Turtle Beach Headsets are great my XP 42 has been a very good purchase and was unfortunately more than the offered one at $99. I just checked and it is $109.99. If you don't mind the chat cable this is a great price for a surroundsound headset.
