During the past couple of years, they offered Sophie sweaters at $50 for a long sleeve pullover crew or v-neck. I would have liked to pick up on this deal, as I have in the past. I was very pleased. But I'm not paying $60 or more for basically the same sweater.
I was keeping my mouth shut because I'm disappointed, but since y'all finally commented, I'm spilling my guts.

i titally agree. they can say 50% off. but the retail they are starting with is high. therefor, the sale price it high. you can get a nice cashmere vneckbor cardigan righ now in local stores with a sale orice that is 15-20% lower than these prices

Amazon just isn't the same... they are just going downhill and all these cost for cotton ..gas and commodities etc has risen so much the increases are all being passed onto us the consumer as always.
The consumer always gets screwed ..everytime you put a politician in office who loves to milk everyone for more taxes without ever fixing their out of hand spending this is what happens and that is...
The customer always gets screwed !

The workers are very busy in the Amazon warehouses and they can't keep up with the orders that are coming in which raises the cost of doing business and this raise in cost is being passed on to the consumer and we are dumb enough to pay the higher prices because of the convenience of on-line ordering and it is costing the consumer plenty as the prices of goods keeps on rising and the incomes of those buying isn't rising, and is in fact declining and more people are out of work. We consumers are at the mercy of the big name retailers and we will keep paying higher prices due to corporate greed.

I need at least two sweaters for winter, and this "deal" caught my eye so I spent over an hour reading reviews and checking prices simply because these are all manufactured in China, and I had never heard of the brand before.
Yes, I already know that well over 95% of any name brand clothing is manufactured in China, but depending upon the brand, you can get good to high quality clothes from China. But, after checking a few styles from the brands offered it seems as though these brands are exclusive to Amazon.
So, since I couldn't comparison shop on the prices, I turned to reading the Amazon reviews.
1. These sweaters are thin and sized incorrectly. 2. A few reviews said that the material is labeled wrong as to the type material used in the item.
I have seen sweaters and felt the materials, and examined the workmanship in local shops of good quality sweaters that were priced lower than these offerings today from Amazon.
I'll pass and shop where I can see and feel what I'm getting, and make sure the size fits me.

Does not look like a Gold box Deal of the day to me - expensive and poor quality. :( I used to be able to get such a good deal on Amazon - now - not so much...
