Marketplace Payments by Amazon lets you use the same credit card you have on file with Amazon.com to pay for items you buy from others.
Orders that Use Payments
When you buy a used or collectible item at Amazon Marketplace or from an Amazon Merchant, you can pay via Marketplace Payments by Amazon. All third-party sellers on our Amazon Marketplace platform must be registered for Marketplace Payments by Amazon, the only accepted payment method for all Marketplace transactions.
When using Marketplace Payments by Amazon for a Marketplace or Merchant transaction, you may use a credit card or an Amazon.com gift card. Marketplace Payments by Amazon does not support payment by check, money order, or PayPal.
Amazon Payments Safety
Convenience
If we are unable to charge your card successfully for an Amazon Marketplace order, we will send an e-mail notification with a link to resubmit payment, at which time you can update your payment information or authorize another attempt to charge. We cannot re-try your credit card for you. If payment is unsuccessful more than once, or the order is more than 3 days old, the order will be canceled. If this occurs, please feel free to return to our store to place another order.
At this time, we cannot accept resubmitted payments on some declined Merchant orders.
Updating a CardIf payment is successful, your card will be charged at the time of purchase. We have no means by which to alter the credit card for an Amazon Merchant or Marketplace order after it has been submitted. To cancel an order, you will need to contact your seller to make arrangements. Seller contact information is available through Your Account.
If you would simply like to update a credit card on your account, you'll find our Help page instructions under Adding & Deleting Credit Cards.
