How to apply

Application process: Visit the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card page and click the "Sign Up" button.

Approval: You'll receive a decision within 30 seconds.

If you were not instantly approved, you'll need to wait until your application has completed the approval process -- usually within 2 to 4 weeks after applying. Due to the time it takes to process applications, please wait at least 2 weeks after applying before inquiring about the status of your application. Neither Amazon.com nor Chase will be able to speed up the processing of an Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card application that was selected for manual review.

Requirements: You must be a U.S. Resident, have a U.S. Social Security number (SSN) or U.S. Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), and be at least 18 years old (19 in AL and NE).

How is the Sign-Up Savings Applied to My Account?

If you applied for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa card and were approved, an Amazon.com Gift Card will be credited to your Amazon.com account automatically.

How to use the card

Starting out

You can use your new Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card on Amazon.com as soon as you are approved as long as your orders are shipped to an address already on your Amazon.com account.. We'll add the card to your account as a payment method and send you an e-mail message with instructions so you can start shopping right away.

While we make it possible for customers to use the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card for Amazon.com purchases upon approval, you will not receive the complete card number or be able to use the card for purchases outside Amazon.com until your card arrives in the mail.

Getting your card

Customers typically receive their Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card in the mail within 3 weeks of being approved. Once you receive and activate the physical card, you may begin using it anywhere Visa is accepted.

Using your card on Amazon.com

Upon approval, we automatically add your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card to your Amazon.com account as a payment method. You can use your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card for purchases on Amazon.com right away as long as your orders are shipped to an address already on your Amazon.com account.

Log in to the Amazon.com customer account that you used while signing up for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card and add items to your shopping cart.
Select a shipping address that was listed on your Amazon.com account at the time your application was approved.
Select the radio button that appears next to the Amazon.com Visa in the payment section.

As a security measure, if (a) you wish to ship your order to a new address or (b) your order is for a gift card or a downloadable product like an e-book, then you must first wait until you receive the physical card in the mail and then enter it as a payment method.

Troubleshooting

The card isn't listed as a payment option.

There are a few reasons why you may not see your new Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card appearing as a payment option on the order form:

For your protection, the order must be shipped to one of the addresses listed on your account at the time your application was approved.
If you have more than one Amazon.com account, you may be logged in to a different account than the one associated with your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card application. Please try logging into another account. If you can't remember your password, please e-mail us.
You may not have been instantly approved. Please contact Chase Bank to check the status of your application.

I'm being asked to enter the card number but don't have it yet.

For your protection, any order you place before you receive your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card in the mail must be shipped to one of the addresses already on your Amazon.com account at the time you applied. If you attempt to enter a new address or even retype an existing address as a new entry, the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card will not be listed as a payment option and you will have to wait for the card to arrive. Changing the shipping address at checkout

During checkout, click the "Ship to this address" button for any address listed in the "Choose a shipping address" section.
If you are already on the page titled "Please review and submit your order," click the "Change" button next to "Shipping to" and choose a pre-existing address.
After choosing an eligible address, click the "Change" button in the Payment Method section and select the Amazon.com Visa from the listed payment methods.

If you choose a listed address added after you applied for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card, you will be asked to enter the full credit card number.

Special Offer Through Kindle Troubleshooting

Kindle with Special Offers users will see an offer to receive an Amazon.com gift card upon signing up for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card through their device or through advertisements on Amazon.com. Follow these troubleshooting steps if you're having issues with this offer:

I clicked on the offer on my Kindle with Special Offers device, but haven't seen an e-mail about it.

First, check the e-mail account to which your Kindle is registered. It's the same e-mail address you use to login to your Amazon.com account. Check your junk mail folder.

If you've verified that you are checking the correct e-mail account and you don't see the e-mail, please contact us for help.

I don't see the offer on my Kindle with Special Offers device.

To view all current offers, go to the Home screen, press the Menu button and select View Special Offers. If the offer is no longer listed, the offer has expired and is no longer available.

When I click on the e-mail link about the offer I get a "Sorry, this offer expired" message.

This offer is available for a limited time only. To view all current offers, go to the Home screen, press the Menu button and select View Special Offers. If the offer is no longer listed, the offer has expired and is no longer available.

When I click on the e-mail link about the offer I get the card holder page for my current Amazon Rewards Visa Card.

This offer is not available for current cardholders and it can be used only once.

When I click on the e-mail link about the offer I get a "This offer is only available to Kindle with Special offers" owners message.

To access this offer, log into Amazon.com with the same account as the one to which your Kindle with Special Offers is registered. Log in with the correct account and try clicking on the link again.

If you just bought a Kindle, it won't be linked to your account until the device ships. You can make sure that device is linked to your account through the Manage Your Kindle page (www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle). You can also determine which Kindle model you have through the Manage Your Kindle page.

Make a Payment

When will I receive my billing statement? Unless you have specifically requested Chase not to mail your statement, Chase will send you the bill for your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card by post after every billing cycle. If you wish to view your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card statement online or pay your bill online, register for online account access at www.chase.com/amazon after you have received your Amazon.com Visa card in the mail.

Earning Points

With the Amazon.com Rewards Visa, you earn 3 reward points per one dollar spent on eligible Amazon purchases, 2 points per one dollar spent on eligible gas, dining, drugstore, and office supply purchases, and 1 point per one dollar on all other eligible purchases.

Redeeming Points

You can redeem your rewards points using Shop with Points at Amazon.com. Shop with Points lets you pay for purchases at Amazon.com using your rewards points. If you want to use your rewards points to pay for part or all of your purchase, you'll need to proceed to checkout through your Shopping Cart. When you select your payment method for the purchase, you can choose the amount of points you wish to apply. Once you've selected your payment method and applied points towards your purchase, select Continue. The points that are applied to your order will be deducted from your order total and displayed as rewards points in the Order Summary. Learn more about using Shop with Points.

Checking Your Reward Points Balance

You can see your rewards points balance by going to Your Account and selecting the Shop with Points link. You can also see your reward point balance as of your last statement by logging into your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card online account at chase.com/amazon, and clicking the "See rewards details" link. Your reward point balance will also be visible on your Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card statement.
