Media Items

Heavier books will incur the standard shipping fees and may be subject to an additional surcharge. The surcharge varies depending on the weight of the book, and will be noted during checkout in the Shipping & Handling subtotal of your order.

Additional shipping and handling charges apply to media items of unusual size or weight. See the Help page for your geographical region to determine the actual surcharge amount:

Large Items

Amazon.com offers a number of large and oversized items that require special handling. If an item requires special handling, you'll see a note on the product detail page indicating that the item will ship separately from other items in your order due to the special handling required. Keep in mind that some items too big to ship to a P.O. box must be shipped to a street address.

These items must ship with one of our specialty shippers, such as ABF or CEVA or Pilot. The shipping charges for these items are either indicated on their product detail pages or will be calculated for you at the last step of the purchase process before you place your order.

When items shipped via our specialty carriers arrive at the local hub in your area, a representative from that facility will contact you by telephone to arrange a convenient time for delivery. You can expect the shipper to contact you within 7 business days of the ship date to make an appointment for delivery. The delivery service you will receive is called a threshold delivery; the agent will bring the item through the front door of the building (either front door of a house or garage, or front door of apartment building). An adult signature will be required at the time of delivery.

Televisions 40" and Larger

For televisions that are 40" inches or larger, we offer an enhanced delivery service through one of our specialty shippers, CEVA or Pilot. They will make special arrangements for the delivery of your order. Upon arrival at the shipper's local hub in your area, a representative from that facility will contact you by telephone to arrange a convenient time for delivery. You can expect a phone call from the shipper within 7 business days of the ship date.

Upon delivery, they will bring the parcel into your home and unpack the item. You will need to inspect your television carefully for damage or obvious defects while the shipper is still present. If you discover any damage, please refuse delivery. An adult signature is required at the time of delivery.
