After You Buy: Your Media Library

When you purchase an item at Amazon.com, you receive a confirmation via e-mail. When you purchase a digital product, you receive a second e-mail as soon as we deliver the product to Your Media Library. This second e-mail contains a link that takes you directly there. Delivery of the product to Your Media Library can take as little as a few minutes or as long as an hour.

Your Media Library is a secure location from which you retrieve all digital products, including eDocs, Amazon Upgrades, the free electronic user manuals that come with some products, and free music files that are available with select CDs.

You can access Your Media Library from the digital product delivery e-mail you received or in Your Account following these steps:

  1. Click on Your Account at the top of any Amazon.com page.
  2. In the "Where's My Stuff?" section at the top of the page, click on the "View Your Media Library" link.
  3. Complete the sign-in process.

If you are downloading an HTML eDoc, your Web browser will automatically open the eDoc. To save it on your computer for later viewing, use the "Save as…" command under your web browser's "File" menu. If you are downloading a PDF eDoc, you will be prompted to "Save" the PDF to your computer or "Open" it with Adobe Reader. If you decide to save the eDoc, be sure to give it a name that you'll remember and to save it in a logical place on your hard disk.

To open an eDoc again at a later time: Simply navigate to the location on your hard disk where you saved the eDoc and double-click on the file.

If the reader software has not been activated: Instructions for activating your reader will be presented automatically after download completes. For more information on activation, please see the Adobe Reader site. If you are downloading an eDoc, you will see a Save Dialog box when you click the Download button. Be sure to give the eDoc a name that you'll remember and to save it in a logical place on your hard disk.

To open an eDoc again at a later time: Simply navigate to the location on your hard disk where you saved the e-doc and double-click on the file.
