Delivery Expectations

Sellers are expected to ship all orders within two business days of the date the order notification is made available by Amazon. When you offer a certain shipping option, you can deliver your order using any carrier and method, as long as the buyer receives their package within the expected timeframe for the shipping service they selected.

All sellers are required to offer standard shipping; sellers may also elect to include priority expedited shipping.

• Domestic Standard: For sellers shipping within the U.S., the buyer should receive the order within 4 to 14 business days from the shipment date (up to 21 business days in some cases). For sellers shipping to the U.S. from international locations, the buyer should receive the order within 7 to 32 business days from the shipment date.
• Domestic Expedited: The buyer should receive the order within 2 to 6 business days after shipment.

Premium expedited shipping and international shipping may also be offered for Books, Music, Video, and DVD (BMVD) products.

• 2-Day Domestic: The buyer should receive the order within 48 hours after shipment.
• 1-Day Domestic: The buyer should receive the order within 24 hours after shipment.
• Standard International: The buyer should receive the order within 3 to 6 weeks after shipment, although it may take up to 8-12 weeks depending on customs delays.
• Expedited International: The buyer should receive the order within 3 to 7 business days after shipment, although it may take longer depending on customs delays.

Shipping-Time Terminology

Handling Time + Transit Time = Delivery Time

• Handling Time: The elapsed time between when the buyer places the order and the seller hands the order over to the delivery service. The default handling time is 1-2 business days even if you set a value of "1" unless you are qualified for one-day handling time.
• Transit Time: The elapsed time between when the product or shipment is on the loading dock to when it appears at the customer's doorstep.
• Delivery Time: The elapsed time between when the customer places an order to when it appears at the customer's doorstep.
  

Faster Availability and Transit Times

If you meet Amazon's targets for on-time delivery and tracking scores, you may be eligible to offer reduced handling or transit times on your items. Offering reduced handling and/or transit times may improve the customer experience and improve your sales. Learn more.

Shipping Rates and Credits

Amazon collects a per-item shipping fee from the buyer and passes it on to help cover your shipping costs. The shipping amount you will receive depends on the product category of the item you are selling and the shipping method selected by the buyer.

Shipment is required even if the shipping amount credited to your account does not cover all shipping costs.

Fulfillment by Amazon
