Can I share content with other Kindles?

Books can be shared between Kindles, Kindle for PC, or iPhones that are registered to the same account. There may be limits on the number of devices (usually six) that can simultaneously use a single book. Subscriptions to newspapers or periodicals cannot be shared on multiple devices. If you purchased a Kindle (Latest Generation), you can re-download books wirelessly for free, anytime, to your Kindles. We even back up your last page read and annotations, so when you re-download your books you can pick up where you left off with all of your notes still in place.

How do I download Kindle 2.5?

We're excited to announce that a new, free software update is now available for Kindle (2nd generation) or Kindle DX and will be automatically delivered to your device. If you have a software version prior to 2.5, you can download the latest Kindle software update to your computer and transfer it to your Kindle via USB.

Kindle (Latest Generation) and Kindle DX (Latest Generation) will be delivered with the latest software already installed.

What can I do about a frozen Kindle?

Will my order for a Kindle (Latest Generation) ship on August 27?

If you placed an order before 8 p.m. PST on August 1st, your order will still ship by the August 27th release date.

Can I trade in my Kindle or get an upgrade to the new model?

We don't offer a trade-in program. If you ordered a Kindle in the last 30 days, you're welcome to return the Kindle for a refund and order a newer Kindle model.

How do I register/deregister my Kindle?

From your Kindle, select Home > Menu > Settings > Register or Deregister. From Amazon.com, register or deregister via the Manage Your Kindle pages.
