Kindle Return Policies
Returning Kindle Books
Books you purchase from the Kindle Store are eligible for return and refund if we receive your request within seven days of the date of purchase. Once a refund is issued, you'll no longer have access to the book. To request a refund and return content, visit Manage Your Kindle, Click the Actions button next to the title you'd like to return, and select Return for refund, or contact customer service.
Canceling Kindle Subscriptions
Subscriptions to titles in our Newsstand (magazines, newspapers, and blogs) can be canceled at any time. You can update, cancel, or reactivate subscriptions in Manage Your Kindle. For more information and instructions, see Managing Your Kindle Subscriptions.
Return Policy for Apps, Music, and Video
Purchases from the Amazon Appstore, the Amazon MP3 store, and the Amazon Instant Video store are not returnable after purchase. See Troubleshooting Kindle Content for information about troubleshooting downloads.
Returning Kindle Devices
You can return any Kindle device you purchased directly from Amazon.com for a full refund within 30 days of the day you received it as long as it's in new condition and the return is in accordance with our return policy. Your Kindle is not eligible for return and refund after the 30-day return period has expired. Here are instructions for returning your Kindle device.
Note: If want to return your Kindle for a refund and you purchased your Kindle from a third-party retail store, you must return your Kindle to the retailer where you made the purchase according to the retailer's return policies.

About Your Refund
When we have received and processed your return, our returns department will request the appropriate refund to the payment method used for the original order. View completed refunds by visiting the Order Summary in Your Account http://www.amazon.com/your-account.
Note about pre-paid mailing labels and shipping cost refunds: Return shipping costs are only reimbursed if the return is due to Amazon error. If a pre-paid label is not convenient in your location, indicate the cost of shipping you paid with your return (either on the packing slip inside of the box or written on the return label outside of the box). You may be reimbursed for your shipping costs according to our Returns and Refunds policy.
Note about returning the Kindle from outside the U.S.: Kindle batteries are considered "Small Lithium Batteries in Equipment" under international regulations and when shipped individually do not require any special labeling or documentation.
Exchanging Kindle Book Gifts
Kindle books you receive as a gift are eligible for exchange for an Amazon.com Gift Card before acceptance. To request an exchange, click the Contact Us button on the right side of this page to reach us via phone, e-mail, or chat. Please make sure to include the gift order number of the item you wish to return in your request (located at the bottom of your gift notification e-mail).
Whether you bought your Kindle through Amazon or in a retail store, your Kindle is covered by a One-Year Limited Warranty. If you need service under the warranty or would prefer some personal assistance, please contact us so we can help determine how best to help you.
