Shipping Products to FBA

How do I pack products for shipment to you?

Collect your packaged and labeled units and pack them in boxes to ship to Amazon. Print shipping labels for your packages. From the Inventory section of your account, you can print a list of products and quantities you intend to send to us and use this list as a reference when collecting the products from your storage facility. ( Print Labels: Ship with FBA or Ship it Yourself)

Pack your product units using as few boxes as possible. Protect the products from damage during shipping by adding cushioning material like foam, air pillows or full sheets of paper. Styrofoam peanuts, crinkle wrap, and shredded paper are not acceptable. Check the sealed box to ensure the contents in the box will not shift during shipping and that the box is strong enough for shipping. Repack the box if necessary. ( Shipping Best Practices)

How do I generate shipping labels?

Print out shipping labels for each box from the Shipping Queue. Attach shipping labels to the exterior of each box. The shipping label provides the destination address and return address. Labels printed for shipments on our carrier accounts will also include the tracking number. You will ensure that:

  1. All units are properly packaged for protection against damage and deterioration during shipment and storage.
  2. Terms of freight for all units are "F.O.B. Destination."
  3. All units comply with our labeling and other requirements.

The label size currently supported is 3-1/3" x 4". To purchase shipping labels go to the Amazon.com Web site. (Print Labels: Ship with Amazon or Ship it Yourself)

When an item ships out to a customer, is there a label on the box indicating that it came from me?

Your name does not appear on item labels or on the shipping label that the buyer receives. Your name does show on the packing slip included in the box as the seller of record.

Can I arrange direct shipment of inventory to Amazon from suppliers in another country?

Yes. We can receive inventory that originates in other countries. Sellers with shipments that originate in other countries will need to arrange the import and customs clearance of the shipment and then arrange for the delivery to our facility. If you are arranging delivery using full containers, trucks or LTL deliveries, review the FBA Merchant Manual section 5.6.2 Shipping and Routing Requirements for instructions on arranging a dock delivery appointment.

Note: The following conditions apply when sending inventory from other countries to Amazon:

  1. We will not serve as the importer of record or ultimate consignee on any of your imported freight.
  2. We will not be responsible for any duties, taxes or other charges associated with the importation of your freight.
  3. We will not provide POA or tax ID numbers to you.
  4. We will not provide brokerage or freight forwarding services.
  5. You are responsible for compliance and filing with all applicable other government agencies at the time of importation (such as FDA, TSCA, FWS).
  6. You must provide prepaid delivery to our fulfillment center.

Do you perform quality checks on inventory when it arrives at your fulfillment center?

We do not perform quality checks at the time of check in unless the item is obviously destroyed or damaged due to the inbound shipping. If you label an item as "new" and we see any indications of damage (cracks, chips, tears and so on) we will put the item aside as unsellable. If you labeled an item "used" that has minor damage, we would assume that it was shipped in that condition and make it available for sale and fulfillment.
