Examples of Permitted Listings


Reminder: all listings and products must comply with all laws and regulations.
  • Properly prepared, packaged and shipped foods and beverages
  • Lot-controlled products with a shelf-life greater than 90 days from the time they are listed on Amazon.com, which must be removed within 50 days prior to their expiration date

Examples of Prohibited Listings

  • Alcohol (except from pre-approved wine sellers)
  • Prohibited animal products
  • Products containing ingredients for which a premarket safety notification is required but has not been filed
  • Products that are adulterated or misbranded
    • Lazy Larry Brownies
    • Lazy Cakes
  • Products that the Consumer Products Safety Commission or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined present an unreasonable risk of injury or illness, such as Kinder Eggs
  • Products that have passed their expiration or "use by" dates
  • Lot-controlled products with a shelf-life of less than 90 days from the time they are listed on Amazon.com, which must be removed within 50 days prior to their expiration date
  • Controlled substances, such as products containing:
    • Anything listed in Schedules I, II, III, IV or V of the Controlled Substances Act
    • "List I" chemicals or their derivatives by the Drug Enforcement Administration
  • Products that the FDA has determined present an unreasonable risk of injury or illness
  • Products containing shark, dolphin, whale, or porpoise meat
  • Products that are prohibited from import into the United States
    • Bovril (beef or chicken)
