About Your Device's Send-to-Kindle E-mail Address

You can send documents to your supported Kindle devices and Kindle reading applications by e-mailing them to your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address. Your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address is a unique address that is assigned to you when you register your Kindle device or reading application.

By default, your documents will also be saved in Amazon Cloud Drive. To change this setting, please visit the Personal Documents Settings section of the Manage Your Content and DevicesManage Your Content and Devices (Amazon.com full site) page.

To successfully send personal documents using your Send-to Kindle e-mail address, ensure that:

  • The sender's e-mail address has been added to Your Approved Personal Document E-mail List.
  • The e-mail is sent to your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address (visible in your Personal Documents Settings).
  • Your document is a supported file type.

Attach the document to a new e-mail, or forward an existing e-mail with the document attached, to your Send-to-Kindle e-mail address. The e-mail cannot contain more than 25 attachments and cannot be sent to more than 15 distinct Send-to-Kindle e-mail addresses. Documents must be 50 MB or less before they need to be compressed in a ZIP file.
Tip: To convert the document to Kindle format, type "convert" in the e-mail subject line.
