Use Send to Kindle for PC

Send to Kindle for PC offers you three methods for sending your personal documents to your registered Kindle devices, supported Kindle reading applications, and Your Kindle Library in the Amazon Cloud.

You can send the following file types to your registered Kindle devices, supported Kindle reading applications, and Your Kindle Library in the Amazon Cloud:

  • Microsoft Word (.DOC)
  • Microsoft Word (.DOCX)
  • TXT (.TXT)
  • RTF (.RTF)
  • JPEG (.JPEG, .JPG)
  • GIF (.GIF)
  • PNG (.PNG)
  • BMP (.BMP)
  • PDF (.PDF)
  • MOBI (.MOBI)

Send Documents from Windows Explorer

You can send documents directly from Windows Explorer.

  1. Right click on the desired file, and then select Send to Kindle.
    • To select multiple documents, hold the Ctrl key and then select your files.
  2. Select the Kindle device or reading app that you want to send the file to, and then click Send. If Archive document in your Kindle Library is selected, the file will be stored in the Cloud. If you don't see your Kindle device or reading app on the list, make sure Send to Kindle for PC is registered to your Amazon account.

Send from Print Menu

You can send content to your Kindle device, reading app, or Your Kindle Library from the Print menu.

Sending through the Print Menu may create a version of your document that is larger than the original.

  1. Select Send to Kindle from the list of installed printers, and then click Print.
  2. Select the Kindle device or reading app want to send the file to, and then click Send. If Archive document in your Kindle Library is selected, the file will be stored in the Cloud. If you don't see your Kindle device or reading app on the list, make sure Send to Kindle for PC is registered to your Amazon account.

Drag and Drop

You can drag documents directly into Send to Kindle for PC.

  1. Open Send to Kindle for PC, and drag and drop one or more documents onto it.
  2. Select the Kindle devices or reading app you want to send the file to, and then click Send. If Archive document in your Kindle Library is selected, the file will be stored in the Cloud.

Note: If you don't see your Kindle device or reading app on the list, make sure Send to Kindle for PC is registered to your account.
