Just received this imposter Amazon email. It's a phising scam. The book allegedly ordered and canceled was never a transaction. Click on the link to the "book" and it directs you to a Toronto drug store.

Amazon.com - Your Cancellation (14-172-8112)

Dear Customer,

Your order has been successfully canceled. For your reference, here's a summary of your order:

You just canceled order 14-172-8112 placed on February 23, 2012.

Hello! Welcome aboard!

I have a tech question about the kindle fire.
I viewed the description of the Kindle app but did not installed. Now the app is always there when I tap the apps on my Kindle Fire screen along with my installed apps. I want to remove this unwanted installation button and the description of the app from appearing on my screen. It looks like it is in the cloud. How can I remove it? Thanks.

Y. Lin - Press on the icon and select Remove from Device. Then on Amazon's website go to your Account > Digital Content > Your Apps and Devices. Click on the Actions button next to the app and delete it. Then turn on your wi-fi and Sync.
*WARNING* This last part will delete it permanently and you will have to buy it again if you want it.

I have previously downloaded library books with no problem. Yesterday I downloaded a book as usual and clicked on the book on the carousel. The book opened up normally indicating the cover and nothing but blank pages with the name of the book (as usual) on the top of each page. Thinking there was something wrong with the book, I returned it and downloaded another with the same problem. Downloading a free book from the Amazon/Kindel store was normal, so the problem is with the recent library book. Today I again tried to open the library book with the same results. I deleted it from the device and again downloaded it from the cloud with again the same results - nothing. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Michael, there have been a number of reports of "blank books". I haven't heard anybody particularly connect it to library books, though.

Those reports have come from Kindle Fire users...since you mention the Carousel, I assume that's the case with you.

Try this:

Settings Gear - More - Applications

You may have to switch to

All Applications

at the top.

Find the Amazon Kindle app and tap on it.

First, try clearing the cache, and see if that fixes it when you launch the book again.

If it doesn't, I've had people report success by doing a Force Stop, and then reopening the book.

You could also clear the data, but try these first.

Nana, I'm sure that's frustrating, but this is a forum of Kindle users like you, we can't fix anything for you. You might want to contact customer services directly by clicking the "Contact Us" button on the right side of the page at the top of the screen.

I wasn't looking for you to fix anything. I was looking for information, which I assumed was the purpose of this forum. I did some research and learned that some things that are available for other Kindle models are not available for Kindle Fire. Maybe my efforts will help someone else.

Nana: well, now that you've deleted your original question, your efforts aren't going to help anyone because nobody knows what you asked.
