Since the latest Kindle Fire update I have not been able to post photos from my gallery to facebook. I click to select file, then select the photo, but when I get back to the share screen there is no file selected.

Thank you.

I am sorry for the trouble you are having. I have reported this to our Kindle developers, and they are working on taking care of it.

Thanks for your patience.

We have a possible solution for this issue. Please try these steps and post again to let us know how it goes.

1. Launch the Facebook app
2. Tap on "Photo" in the upper toolbar
3. Select Upload/Choose File
4. Select Quick Office (rather than Gallery)
5. Tap Browse > Internal Storage
6. Locate the folder where the picture is saved and select the file.

I modified Amazon's suggested method:
1. Launch the Facebook app.
2. Tap on "Photo" in the upper FB toolbar (you can also do upload from Status and you can include a status message either way).
3. Select Choose File.
4. Select Quick Office (rather than Gallery).
5. Tap Internal Storage.
6. Locate the folder where the picture is saved (usually Pictures) and select the file by tapping on the filename (it usually ends with .jpg. Note that you will NOT see a thumbnail image like on a PC, only the filename)
7. Tap on Share in the upper FB toolbar to upload.
8. Wait for image file to upload (it's not instant, the browser tab will display "loading").
9. You should now see your photo as the latest update at the top of the News Feed OR at the top of your Status updates (Timeline).
10. This works in the Mobile view at m.facebook.com. Desktop view at www.facebook.com has a few more steps and requires the Silk browser to be set to Desktop: Optimize for desktop view.

You can also use the free ES File Explorer app to select images. It shows thumbnail images next to the filenames).

5/4/12 Update: From ES File Explorer, tap Menu > Settings > File Settings and check the box for "Show Image Thumbnail." If you want slightly larger thumbnails, tap Menu > Settings > View, and check the box for "Icons."

Sorry, I forgot that I enabled image thumbnails awhile ago. From ES File Explorer, tap Menu > Settings > File Settings and check the box for "Show Image Thumbnail." If you want slightly larger thumbnails, tap Menu > Settings > View, and check the box for "Icons."

I get the same error message from fb now. This issue seems to coincide with the 6.3.1 update. I'm able to upload to fb mobile (m.facebook.com) from the Gallery app using the Maxthon browser so I think it's a Amazon Silk problem. I can upload to the fb desktop site (www.facebook.com) with the Silk browser. This may indicate that the problem with the Gallery app is fixed but now there may be a problem with the Silk browser with fb mobile.
