I have a Kindle Fire. Is it possible to load books from Barnes and Noble site or strictly from Amazon? Can you borrow from nook?

You can sideload the nook app to your Fire which will allow you access to nook books. It's very easy to do and you don't have to root your device (google instructions or search the forum).

You can download the Nook app from getjar.com directly to your Kindle Fire and access your B&N account that way. I have no idea if you can borrow from the Nook, you'd have to go to a Nook help forum for that information.
