I recieved my kindle fire in April. It will not connect to the wifi. My wifi connection says on but it does not give me a list of connections to choose from or even connect itself to anything. I am also having problems with the time and date. I tried to see what software I have, but it will not let me. My screen is also stuck in on position, it will not rotate at all. I do not know what to do...any ideas.....

Let's make a check list and try to address each issue you're experiencing. For your Wi-fi, time and date, and software - let's restart your Kindle Fire. While unplugged, hold the power button down for a full 20 seconds. Wait a minute or so and press the power button again to turn it back on.

Go ahead and press the 'Quick Settings' icon and then the 'Wi-fi' icon, selecting 'On', to receive a list of available Wi-fi networks. Wi-fi networks are personal networks, if none are available, you may want to go where there is free Wi-fi. Places such as a public library often have free public Wi-fi networks.

The date and time will automatically set once you're connected to a Wi-fi network. However, you can manually set it by tapping: 'Quick Settings', 'More', and then 'Date & Time'.

You can see your software version by following the same steps above, but instead of 'Date & Time, select 'Device'.

Now, for your screen rotation, tap 'Quick Settings' and then 'Unlock'. This will enable your screen to rotate based on how you're holding it.

Thanks for posting, I hope this helps!
