I have kindle keyboard and currently have the annotation backups turned on in order to sync my notes.

but when I look to the other devices even the kindle web browser there are no notes there.

I tried installing a new kindle PC and downloaded one of the books with my notes but no notes are syncronized.
Also tried other way to create some notes in the kindle PC for the same book (wondering if it was going to merge them) but the PC version replaced the kindle keyboard version (so I lost the kindle notes)
Also tried connecting the kindle keyboard to my pc and copying manually the files from the kindle keyboard documents folder to the PC's kindle folder but the files weren't read/recognized in the kindle PC (also noticed kindle keyboard book filenames were larger than correspoding kindle PC book files)

Any tips/trick to sync or force sync the notes to the other devices?

Thanks.

If you're having trouble syncing your notes and highlights between devices, let's make sure Annotation Backup is enabled for both devices.

For your Kindle Keyboard:
1. From Home, press the "Menu" button, and then select "Settings"
2. Page forward, and then select "Turn on" next to Annotations Backup.

For your Kindle for PC:
1. From the Tools drop-down menu, select "Options"
2. Select "Annotations" and make sure the Annotations Backup feature is checked.

Second, let's make sure Device Synchronization is turned on through the Manage Your Kindle (www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle). Click on the "Manage Your Devices" link on the left, then ensure Whispersync Device Synchronization is turned on.

Try creating a new annotation, then performing a sync.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Kara
Thanks for the tip, I double checked and I already had annotations feature enabled but anyhow verified again and the sync didn't worked.

General escenario that I have:
Kindle keyboard where I have all the notes and hightlights
Kindle PC
Kindle Ipod
Since I have all my notes in kindle keyboard, previous to running the test I connect kindle to the PC and copy the kindle's keyboard documents folder as a general backup, also backup files on the kindle pc directory (so keep it in mind if you want to try this, because you may lose information)

So this is what I did:
1. Identify a book that has highlights and copy its notes files .mbp to the pc kindle books folder (c:\users\<userid>\my documents\my kindle documents)
2. notice the book file name on the Kindle keyboard and find the equivalent name on the PC, example, copy the kindle keyboard file to the pc and rename the file accordingly, for instance:
kindle keyboard: "book name_B0001SEIM_EBOK.mbp"
PC kindle: "B0001SEIM_EBOK.mbp"
3. After I did it I could see all my notes on the PC, but whenever I sync i didnt send the notes to the other devices (kindle ipod)
4. So what I did, I highlighted some additional text and then synced.
this new hightlights appeared on the kindle PC but when verified on the kindle IPOD only the new highlights appeared.
After some additional tests, on both sides what I notice is that somehow the .mdp file has something defined in it that even whenever annotation backup is on, it is not recognized but when a new highlight is added the it is recognized, like somehow the format I have in the .mbp file is in a different version, really weird

Anyhow, since I have a lot of highlights and notes and working with them (scrolling, copy/paste/delete) is easier on the kindle PC that on the kindle keyboard, the only way I found that I can sync it to the rest of the devices is the following (notice this is a lot of manual rework).

1. copy the book .mbp from the kindle keyboard to the PC
2. Open the book on the kindle PC and notice it has listed all the notes/highlights.
3. Go to every note/highlight, notice how long its or the text, delete it and then highlight/note it again.
4. Sync and check on the other device if the recreated highlights/notes are syncronized.

This is the only way I have found so far.

If anybody finds another way please let me know.
