Why do Regular Show: Season 3, The Lego Movie, and Muppets Most Wanted say they're not available on DVD?

On the pages for the DVDs of Regular Show: Season 3, The Lego Movie, and Muppets Most Wanted, they say that they're not available. Why would they say that, they haven't even been released yet! Really hope this situation gets settled soon. I really wanted to buy Regular Show: Season 3, The Lego Movie, and Muppets Most Wanted on DVD, and I'll be really sad if it turns out I can't.

If they haven't been released yet, they are not available. What seems to be the issue here?

Check imdb.com and you can often find the expected release date for almost any movie or show coming out on dvd/blu-ray.

The Lego movies is rentable on Amazon Instant Video and you can sign up to be notified when the DVD comes out. Muppets Most Wanted is available for pre-order. What more do you expect Amazon to do?

The studios control how and when any film or show is available and under what circumstances. Amazon would be happy to sell you any and all right now but they can't legally. They aren't in business to frustrate people.

I don't understand what your issue is. if it hasn't been released then it isn't available. what is the "situation" that needs to get settled. amazon can't sell what they don't have. walk into any store and if you're looking for those movies there you will get the same answer.

Simple, because they're not available on DVD.

so I guess you think that "not available" implies that a DVD exists but can't be purchased on Amazon and that's not how Amazon should explain it. Considering you needed to post that, is this your most pressing problem?

It's possible that there were a lot of pre-orders and Amazon can't sell it until they get more, which will likely be sometime after the movie releases on DVD. I can't speak for the other 2 movies on your list, but I pre-ordered The Lego Movie back in February and my order is still there with an expected delivery date of June 17. I would imagine there is a lot of demand for that particular movie.

For those who do not understand blaze22's question it's simple: Amazon will allow Customers to preorder an item prior to its actual release date. Regular show, muppets and the Lego movie are listed as unavailable and not available for pre-order. This could mean the release was cancelled.

I wrote Amazon but only received a genetic letter saying "yes the DVDs are not available but check back later." It's possible maybe the have more preorders than product expected on hand.

If Amazon had them available for pre-order, people would be able to pre-order them. What's so hard to understand about that? Since some of them were apparently available for pre-order previously, perhaps the distributor only allowed them a certain amount for pre-order.

According to the New York Times...

http://nyti.ms/1oSju4r

...Amazon is having a dispute with Warner Home Video and is refusing to sell Warner's upcoming releases, which include The Lego Movie. However, this doesn't explain why the Muppets Most Wanted pre-order has disappeared as well. I pre-ordered Muppets Most Wanted when you still could and it's still supposed to arrive on or near its delivery date, even though it's no longer available to pre-order. However, I didn't pre-order The Lego Movie and now I can't, even though it comes out this Tuesday. Before I was aware of the situation with Warner Home Video, I contacted Amazon (via chat) and asked about this, and the response said they were just ensuring they would have enough copies in stock to deliver on each item's release date. Perhaps that's the case for Muppets Most Wanted, but it's certainly not the case for The Lego Movie (and I don't know what studio releases Regular Show). I've never seen Amazon list a major film as unavailable three days before its release. Amazon has always been my favorite place to shop online because it really feels like they put the customer first, but their current confrontations with Warner and Hachette Book Group (see article above) are making me question their true priorities for the first time.

You do know Hachette was the group responsible for the Anti-Trust lawsuit against Apple and them, for colluding to keep prices high?
Amazon is doing everything good in the case of Hachette Book Group.

However, I am not sure why they are having a dispute with Warner Home Video at all.

Warner Bros wants a higher price than Amazon wants to pay. Same as with any negotiation.
