Download and transfer files to Kindle via USB

If your Kindle is out of wireless coverage range, you can still put your purchased items onto one or more of your Kindles. Here's how:

  1. Make sure your Kindle is powered on and awake.
  2. Connect USB cable (provided with your Kindle) to the Kindle and your computer.
  3. Download your Kindle content to your computer via Your Media Library.
  4. Transfer the downloaded files onto your Kindle.
    1. All reading content should go into the "documents" folder.
    2. All audio content should go into the "music" folder.
    3. Audible.com files (.aa) should go into the "audible" folder.
