Carl A. Dixon says:
This is a challenging and great book. We must ask ourselves Who we are living for - What we are living for - Why we are living - reading this book is a great personal challenge and drives you back to scripture and directly to obedience to Jesus' loving, purposeful demands on our lives.

This literally took my breath away. I wish it would be played in every allegedly Christian church this Sunday.

Wow. So so true! Go forgive us for our idolatry of the American Dream and our Christian spin on it.

Timothy R Holland says:
Their primary directive, as defined in their video is: "The most glorious reason you exist is for the proclamation of the glory of God to the ends of the earth".
THIS IS NOT the reason we exist. This is a typical Protestant Evangelical reason, but the true reason is to know God and become perfected.
These people, many of whom are sincere, and as I said a long time ago "On fire for the Lord", are hindered by not understanding the fundamental question of life - why did God create me?
We are to pursue holiness radically. If this is done, then the gospel will be proclaimed, as St Seraphim taught: Acquire the spirit of peace and a thousand around you will be saved"

Yes, St. Seraphim taught "Acquire the spirit of peace and a thousand around you will be saved". But you can't compare life of a recluse monk, whom even wild beast listened because of his holiness, to contemporary christian either Orthodox or Evangelical. The culture and experience or deep Orthodox living already lost in Russian land and it will never put root here in States with a deep worship to "I individual" kind or god. One thing is to read the books of Fathers and Saints, the other is to at least to live at 1% as they did. Nobody does it now, and in Russia they believe more in a saintly belt of Theotokos and all kind of relics than in Jesus Christ. Do not kid yourself Orthodoxy was great when it was old and heroic in martyrs but today it's much worse than deeply religious Baptist from non Calvinist camp.

I am a Pastor with 25 years in the ministry. I was radically saved in 1978 and began to devour God's Word. Over the years I have grieved concerning the truncated Americanized Gospel promoted by modern evangelical Churches. I shed tears uncontrolably as I read this book. (Only 1/5t through) Powerful, Right-On, a Spirit-directed message for the western Church. It rekindled my 1st love.
