They're going to have to find a better voice for Enzo if they make this into a film.

Look past the voice and look into his heart.

This is a FANTASTIC book....my mom and her book club recommended it to me..and now I'm telling everyone...get it! If you've ever loved a dog, a person, or a passion, or all three then you'll love this book.
It will make you appreciate your life through a dog's eyes and voice. Well done.

this is the best...doesn't get any better!

I agree with Revie - I don't think Enzo sounded so "20-ish" (afterall he was ready for his next life). Fabulous book!

Fabulous book, tears streamed down my cheeks as I finished it, not just of sadness but of the joy of the love of a dog and human. I have a thirteen and a half year old Golden, very much like the cover photo, and I look forward to seeing him again.

I am listening to the book and the reader Christopher Evan Welch is a great voice for the dog. I hope the make it into a movie

Monica L. Blons says:
Being an old dog, Enzo should probably have a "gruff" aging voice, but this clip doesn't take away from the story-it captivates you from the 1st chapter; as the author understands the thought process of a dog better than most writers...a little too much detail about racing, but from Enzo's perspective it's the metaphorical aspects that work. I enjoyed it; and wanted more.

If you read no other book this year, make this the one.
Look out Marley, Enzo is on the track & he doesn't check mirrors!

I just went and heard Garth Stein at a book shop last night. They ARE going to make it into a movie....no word on the voice for Enzo, but I agree, it needs to be better than this clip!

Just finished this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone who has a dog. If you don't have a dog you greatly appreciate and love, much of the nuances will be lost. But since there are 47 million households with dogs, we are in good company!

I agree on voice--the books is great and will make a great movie, but another voice is needed.
