Pre-order the "Star Wars" saga on Blu-ray. Choose from the following options:
Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray]
Star Wars: Original Trilogy (Episodes IV - VI) [Blu-ray]
Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy (Episodes I - III) [Blu-ray]

Would be nice to know exactly what will be included. In comments, people say that the original versions of Episodes 4-6 won't be included, but the official details on Amazon don't (yet) say. The original versions, in SD format as previously released, would not take very much space - all could be on a single BD disk with other "extras".

Though the descriptions do seem clear that Clone Wars won't be included, making this perhaps a "complete live-action saga", but not a complete movie collection. On the other hand, the Clone Wars movie primarily serves to lead into the television series, so to be fully-complete that would also be needed, and you have to draw the line somewhere.

Again, the details on Amazon would be greatly improved if they said exactly what was included, and in so doing reduce the rampant speculation.

Finally after a long time to wait they are coming to blu-ray. Now tell Steven Spielberg to release Jaws and Indiana Jones to Blu-ray.

I think the release of the complete series is awesome but to bring to today's technology (Blu-Ray) is out of this world . I can't wait to purchase it. I remember seeing the original chapters. I too am having goosebumps just thinking about seeing the old gang again. Thanks George Lucas n Steven Spielberg for your futuristic vision .

Yeah... I've read that only the special editions of the original trilogy will be released. Unless that changes, I'm sadly gonna pass.

They may not even be the Special Editions. I know at least specific sound effect is being changed in ANH for this release.

I have about 5 releases of Star Wars including the Old super8 film from Ken Films. They released 2 films which include sections of the original movie. Back in the late 70's this was the only way to see it if it wasn't playing in the theater. Pretty neat to see it in film even if it doesn't look as good as the DVD, somehow it seemed better than the VHS releases

I am sure that when the time gets closer more information about just what is on the discs will be revealed then we will crush the rebellion with one swift stroke. I really hope they add the lost Anchorhead footage. That would be worth the price to have it as bonus material.

The only thing that could make this THE best pack..is if they included the "original" cantina scenes, and music, but.. this set would probably incapacitate me for an entire weekend, and I couldnt be more excited!

Michael, Lucas himself stated some months ago he will never release the originals again. He hated them and redid them as the version we now know. People need to get over it. As owner and everything else of Starwars its his right to do what he wants, with his product. The blu-rays in sept 2011 will not include the original versions. If you have the sd dvds hang on to them ,they will be worth something someday.
