First edition, first printing. Fine/As New cloth-bound hardcover in a Fine/As New dust jacket, protected by a mylar cover. BOOKS SHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WRAPPED IN PADDING, BOXED. Photographs by Helen Levitt; foreword by John Szarkowski. 118 pages; 109 full-page, color photographic plates; 9.5 x 9 inches. Virtually unknown, Levitt possesses an archive of color work, which has been collected for the first time in this volume. In 1959 and 1960, Levitt received Guggenheim grants to photograph in color on the streets of NYC. The best of these pictures were stolen from her apartment in 1970 and she had to start over. In 1974 the new work was shown as a continuous slide projection at NY's MoMA. More than half of the images in Slide Show have never been exhibited or published before--including eight surviving images from the 1959-60 series. Levitt died in 2009 at the age of 95.

First Edition. First Printing. Fine in Fine Dust Jacket. Signed! This copy is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully signed in black pen on the title page by Helen Levitt. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a great photography book. This is one of very few signed copies still available online and is especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. Many copies were very badly damaged in transit because of shoddy packing. Signed copies of Levitt's books are very scarce, and will increase in value. A rare signed copy.
