Photographs by Lee Friedlander; preface by Walker Evans, written in 1963. 96 pages; 34 full-page duo-toned b&w plates + text illustrations; 9.75 x 9.75 inches. From an edition limited to 100 signed and numbered copies, this being #61, SIGNED BY FRIEDLANDER opposite the half title; no inscription. Gathers together for the first time images Friedlander made of television screens in motel rooms and other nondescript rooms across the US during the years 1961 to 1969. Additionally, LAID IN is a postcard announcing the publication of the book and a booksigning in NYC.
