Solitary Confinement ~ K-Rino

I'm sure all the real hip-hop heads will agree with me when I say Solitary Confinement is easily the best album out this year and quite possibly K's best work to date! This man just gets better with each release, crazy considering he's well over 20 years deep.

Solitary Confinement has not one skipable track and finds K giving us a balanced album with dope beats to match. "Soul Merchants" is a searing indictment of the materialistic record industry. "Dem Laws" is a rally cry against police brutality. "I Didn't Ask" is a eye opening look at life through the eyes of a child. Smokin Wit Tha Enemy ~ Mddl Fngz
Being a fan of Bun B I have always followed MDDL FNGZ which is the hardcore street group he cosigns. Their first CD Trouble was straight, but a little generic in my opinion. "Genius" continues that trend to an extent but I think it is held down by too many commercial tracks. Too many songs just sound like Krizz doing some club or party records and not really having a purpose or focus on it. Sure there was some of the same on the first CD, but this CD seems hindered much more by the abundance of those tracks.

Overall, I still like the CD a lot, but must say I was… Read more
