I have imported Pokemon FireRed from Japan and played through the Elite Four and a majority of the Island areas. It seems as though everything they've done wrong in the past, they've done right this time. Even some aspects that you never knew were lacking have been enhanced. Best of all, you will finally be able to get every last Pokemon (aside from Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys) if you've got access to Ruby/Sapphire, Colosseum, and FireRed/LeafGreen. The revamped Red/Blue from yesteryear will bring back a lot of old memories with the nearly identical storyline, but once you complete the main story, a whole new set of sub-stories begin. Wow! This should be a lot of fun with the XBox Live support. I only have two problems with it, but they are BIG ones.
First, I already have the entire (US) DDR series on PS2, and I have pads for it as well. I feel a little miffed at the idea of having to buy a new pad for a different system. The XBox Live support may make it worth it, but that's at least $70 right there just to play the game right.
Also, while the multi-player portion is inherent in XBox Live, they seem to have omitted it from the non-connected portion of the game. Why on earth is this one-player?? Wow! I kind of expected these to be "Answering Machine"-quality recordings, but they are almost all identical to the recordings on the other albums (when applicable). This is mostly a "Best Of" compilation with a few goodies here and there for the most devout TMBG afficionados out there. Most of those require several listens to appreciate or perhaps one listen to forever decide to skip the tracks.
