At long last, Ms Hudson has finally released her CD. I won't say she 'arrived' since she 'arrived' like gangbusters with Dreamgirls. If I hadn't been so anxious for this CD, perhaps I wouldn't be as disappointed. I feel and still do that Jennifer has the most amazing voice, stage presence and future ahead of her. I have never fervently watched Amateur (oops,) American Idol, but I happened to tune in on a night when they had celebrity judges and I heard her sing, "I Made It Thru The Rain" and then I heard Barry Manilow tell her that she could sing the phone book and make it ring (no pun intended). I could only watch the first 31:13 minutes of this film. To that point, it was intensely suspenseful, atmospheric and creepy, marvelous setting for inpending mayhem. Afterwards, I'm told, it wins severed hands down, the award for the most use of blood and guts, ever. The five star rating comes from the reviews of family and friends who enjoyed it. It is subtitled, but even that won't deter you if you're a fan of 'slash then dash', 'cut then gut', horror.
